Between theses 2 lens, which is better in term of image quality?

I could get brand new Tamron 70-210 f4 and second-hand Nikon 70-200 f4 at the same price range

I'm not considering f2.8 because of it weight

I need to travel light as much as possible

what would you recommend?

This showed me the Tamron is inadequate against the Canon, but may be as good as the Nikon. Maybe. Still, if you can afford it get the Nikon. Or the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 G2 for the same price as the Nikon f/4. I really like my G2.

I bought a used Nikon 70-200 f4 from KEH and it has far exceeded my expectations. It is very, very sharp at all focal lengths and is of professional build. I also have the Nikon 80-200 f2.8, but hardly use it since I got the F4. My recommendation would be to go with the Nikon version. Personally, I think it's always better to stick with the camera maker's own lenses unless there is a very big difference in IQ or price to justify going the third party route.
