Did anyone take advantage of eBay 20% discount last week?

Although the discount was called at £75, I blinked as it brought a secondhand Canon 85/1.2L II down to an irresistible price... lower than what I had paid for a Mk I on eBay some years ago (and which I had managed to resell on eBay at profit)

Did anyone else take advantage? AFAIK the deal was on eBay UK and possibly other European Aires, not sure about US and others.

I couldn't find any obvious candidates for any equipment that I would actually want to buy that was either "Buy it now" or an auction ending in the very short validity window.

I saved myself £16 or so by purchasing a set of ink cartridges for my Canon Pro100 (from a reputable supplier I've dealt with before).

Good for you! You just saved yourself hundreds of pounds by not buying any bodies or lenses!!

Picked up a brand new 17-40 f4 from Currys. Listed at £350ish and paid £280ish... bargain!

That IS a bargain! You've really made the most of the 20% discount given the £75 cap.

Sigh. Here in Australia, the discount was only 10% so good but definitely not as good as yours. I got the Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS $1052 so was pretty happy with that, especially since I sold my 17-40 for $600.

Yep, noticed the grey importers were massively busy!

Whilst I worked out £350-400 was the sweet spot, I've been after the Sony Zeiss 16-35 f4, and managed to get one new (grey) for £694 vs £1,100 on the high street..

There was still 5% eBay cashback through Quidco as well, but I have a feeling that's going to get rejected with the discount code..
