Hi. I'm currently in the market for a new camera, and my budget is $500. I'm very much a novice, and I've been borrowing a Canon Rebel T2i from a friend, and it's okay, but another friend told me I should look into mirrorless cameras. So after some research, I've narrowed down my choices to the Sony Alpha a6000 and the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II.

I have no interest in video, and I like the APS-C sensor of the a6000... buuut I don't use a tripod/monopod, so I like the 5-axis stabilization the E-M10 has in the body.

Here are some examples of what I shoot:
Am I looking at the right two cameras in my budget? Which one would be better for me? Or am I better off staying with a DSLR? Too many options... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A6000. Assuming they have and you can afford the lens you want. The only reason I say this is because of the AF of the em10ii. It is slow. You could probably still get the shots you take but would struggle
Am I looking at the right two cameras in my budget?
I would replace the em10ii with the Panasonic gx85. It may have an af system that makes you happy
Which one would be better for me?
No idea. People all have thier own priorities.
Or am I better off staying with a DSLR?
Well........you seem to be satisfed with your results. The T series are relatively affordable
Too many options...

If you are only using kit lenses then you won't see much quality difference in the images between your two

The a6p00 still has one of the best af systems you can get for $500.

Your cycle racing shots (which are rather nice BTW :-) ) are considered "action" subjects.
Really?? You're too kind. And thanks for the "action" subjects lesson. I'll take a look at those links after work today. Thanks for your help!
