I think I've done this in the past with previous PD versions, but not with 14 or 15. I simply want a moveable, editable text box to overlay video. Can't find it in the Title Room, Edit functions, Power tools, etc.

Thanks for any help..

Your best bet is to place your PD15 question here .

But I'd be surprised if PD15's titling feature is any different from other recent versions.

In version 12, there is a "T" (title) menu tab at the far left side of the screen when in Edit mode. One can pick a pre-fab title or create a custom one. Drag the title thumbnail to the title track. Then right-click the title to edit it. You can use your cursor to stretch or shorten the duration on the time line, or else do this by toggling the duration cell when editing the title.

Thanks, John, but it's not a title I'm referring to, unless it can be created with a transparent background, which I've not found in PD's custom title function..

What I want is simply text overlaying my video as a caption/label, not a title with black or whatever background - just an editable/movable text box.

I've posed the question in the PD forum, but with the same answer. This is such an elementary function I've used on other editors, that I can't believe PD doesn't have it. Otherwise a great editor, and it handles even my GH5's 4K60p files without a hiccough.

Well, I really blew ths one. You were of course correct. All my previous use of Title has been on the video track, using the black-backgrounded titles for chapters, etc. Something must have short-circuited in my 77 year old moth-eaten brain when I first tried the title on the "T" track, but I tried it again late last PM, and the background was indeed transparent. Problem solved.

Thanks for your input!

Ol' Pete
