I bought an used X100T with only 700 shots on ebay and received about 12 days ago and have been using it almost everyday since. Today I experience stuck EVF curtain, where it was stuck halfway, then I knock it a bit and it got stuck all the way, therefore I was unable to use the OVF at all. When I turn the camera on and off, did not half, the OVF curtain was still stuck (when normally it suppose to retrieve automatically when the camera is turned off).

Now it is back to normal after I turn it back on after leave in it the bag for about an hour. Should I be worried? Is it a big deal to experience stuck OVF curtain in the x100 series?

I can still return the camera back to sender for a full refund as it is within 45 days of purchase. I called Fujifilm, they said the labour is $148 per hour to have the camera looked at.

How likely will this happen again?

I would send it back. I believe the problems will get worse over time.

Do you believe a defective camera will fix itself over time?

A. Yes. Then. keep camera and watch it self-heal for free.

B. No. Send camera back to seller for full refund, or,

C. PAY Fujifilm $148/HR to look at your camera and then PAY more to have it repaired.

Hmmm, I'll go with B.

So a stuck OVF curtain is absolutely not normal/common in the X100 or X-pro series?

Not normal and could be very expensive if they need to replace the part, which I think on the x100 may incorporate the lens.

Uh, yes your camera is defective. Save yourself the grief and expense. SEND IT BACK today! Get a new one. Simple.

A pain in the butt to return but I would.
