Just picked up the voigtlander 12mm e-mount and the bombophoto 100mm filter adapter.

Not had a chance to try the lens out yet due to rubbish weather other than a couple of shots in the back garden. The adapter works well and is easy to fit the only thing that isn't great is the filter holder itself, it takes two filters but the closest one to the lens doesn't have a lip to raise it up a hair and it rubs against the top and bottom of the holder probably going to scratch the filters eventually, not a problem if your using like a little stopper which has the foam gasket the other thing is you can see a very small part of the filter holder in the extreme corners but easily removed.

How was the ordering process? I have a Voigtlander 21mm and have been looking everywhere for a square filter holder. These guys seem to be the only ones making it. At first they seem a bit dodgy and vague on their ebay ads. Willing to give it a go if others are using these adapters.

I ordered directly from their website and paid for express delivery everything was here in 3 days no problems.

Very interesting. I'd love to see pictures taken with this setup.

thanks!

Hi OP I am curious to know if the bombophoto's filter holder adapter for this lens will fit other Filter holder such as Nisi?

Reason is I own both Voigtlander 12mm and Loxia 21, and would rather invest in Nisi's filter holder instead. If the specially designed bombophoto filter holder adapter is compatible with Nisi then I might bite.....

Hi,

I'm currently researching the Voigtlander 12mm as I would like to add an ultra wide angle lens to my kit. Could you please let me know how the lens has performed for you?

Could I also get your opinion on the filter holder as I would also like to buy this for the lens if it works? And which adapter and holder did you order?

Thanks in advance

I bought the Bombo for the CV 12 iiii as well.

Purchasing experience was good directly from their website. I opted for the express delivery, a bit pricey but in 4 days I received my parcel.

I see you got the laser holder while I opted for the newsish zorro carbon holder. The latter claims to resolve the issue of light leaking since is well known that you cannot foam your nd filters because the slots are very thin

I still have to try it in the field however while the light leak may have been gone I have issues in pulling out square 100 filters. Since the frame fully cover the filter once in, it is very difficult to pull it out as there are no borders sticking out; I just had to apply pressure from the front of the filter to slide it up which would leave fingerprints

The construction seems good overall

I ordered mine on Monday evening using the website and paid with PayPal. They deliver with UPS and I'm able to track the parcel. As of now it should arrive by tomorrow evening. I'm looking forward to trying it out over the weekend. I too got the Zorro holder.

BTW, Nisi also has 150mm holder system for CV 12, bigger however.

I bought CV 12 months ago and already took many photos. Love its 12mm UWA and 10-point sunstar.

Personally I will not get a filter system for CV 12 but Kase K8 slim 100x100 system for other normal lenses such as FE 16-35 GM. All those UWA need a dedicated holder system basically only for specific lenses, not worth for me and they are bulky and expensive.
Thanks in advance

Let me know if you figure out a way to easily pull out 100x100 filters

I contacted Bombo and they responded very quickly just advising to leave a little window on the top or bottom i.e. don't slide the filter till the end to leave some part sticking out to help the removal. That way can work provided you don't have to rotate the holder which would create massive light leaks

Have you tested your Bombo holder? Impressions?

I am having issues of light leaks with the Zorro and NDs...

Hi everyone,

Sorry to jump in on this thread but can't get an answer from even Bombo with regards to this question.

can I ask anyone who has the adapter, can you measure the distance from outer edge across to outer edge like in the picture attached?

Thanks

I am not familiar with Bombo holder and don't even use filter on CV 12 personally as I said. But in general only 150x150mm holder system is safe to use on FL wider than 16mm without any vignetting or light leaking. My Kase K8 100x100mm slim folder despite very slim and mount on FE 16-35 GM thru 82-86mm master adapter still has tiny vignetting at 4 corners when the lens at 16mm/F2.8 (better when stop down but not completely) if I mount its magnetic CPL on the holder but just zoom out at 17mm it's gone completely, or mount the CPL without holder directly on the 82-86mm adapter. The holder is only needed if I use other sliding-in filters such as GND. Therefore I also buy Breakthrough 82mm x4 6-stop ND filter and directly threw-in on the lens (and still can use CPL or even K8 holder together by screw-in on top the ND filter). Also better to use screw-in ND filter if 6 stops or more as those sliding ND filters more or less will have light leaking that becomes obvious with 6 or more stop ND filters.
