*** This Week Through Your M4/3 2016.10.01 ***

The shot grabs ones attention with all those lines so I guess it is a pass.

Perhaps a crop at the bottom and the top?

Nice set of pictures that I am sure were more difficult to take than they seem.

In the Italian Apennines the Marmots see you a kilometre away and you can hear their warning whistle as one advances up a trail. You never see them close up.

Ah, that's some nice architecture well captured. I have to plan on a photo trip to NY.

Love the first one. There's some interesting motion in the second, but the perspective is not as pleasing as in the first. The second also looks a bit underexposed.

Heading home from the Gower clifftops, the sky turned rather dramatic;

We managed to miss the ensuing rainstorm, but the town streets were awash as we headed home through Swansea.

Paradise indeed! I'm looking forward to our trip to the French side in a couple of weeks (Brianconnais, Queyras, Alpes Maritimes...)

I think I like the first one best. Not easy lighting, but you make the best of what you have.

A run for cover sky!

I like the first one as one can "appreciate" the sky more. Makes me feel quite cold looking at this picture.

BTW. The Alps should be wonderful for your visit. The heat haze I had in my Valle d'Aosta shots will have gone.

A couple of weeks ago I spotted a bull moose in the willows up near the Continental Divide. I managed to to get a few pictures but really wanted to get some clearer shots.

I had a bit of time yesterday so I decided to hike in to see if I could find him. The area is big time grizzly bear country so you're head is constantly on a swivel.

Going along quietly a Ruffed Grouse explodes out of the brush and I nearly had a heart attack.

Came to a small meadow and found a young bull Moose just sprouting his antlers .

I hung out with him for a while and he seemed to be comfortable with me. After a half hour or so I moved on .

I hiked over to another meadow I knew of and there he was along with a female companion .

Bright sun and trees doesn't help for good lighting .

The male and female were making sounds back and forth so I didn't want to stick around very long. Moose are pretty unpredictable and I didn't have a great escape route if one of them decided to charge me.

Not all taken this week, but in the last week or so. Have just got back from Corfu of the Greek coast.

E-M5 ii. No cropping, just a slight 1.5 degree rotation on 'Window' to straighten it up.

A few taken with the Oly 12-50mm:

I also had my first real use of the video with the E-M5 ii this holiday. The IBIS is great. I'm looking forward to playing with it more.

I posted these in the lonely bench thread, but nobody seems to be reading that these days. Anyway, this is Molly, a very sick golden retriever, and the bench her owners gave our park in her name.

I liked the lines in it but just couldn't get the original to come to life. Not hdr though.
I like the lines, too. Nice processing!

Hmm... bit too HDR for my tastes. Not sure such dramatic tones suit such a soft rural scene.
I actually like the rich tonal contrasts, but when I see them I expect to see a certain amount of crispness to help define them. This one seems pretty soft.

I like the first, third and last the best.

The first gives a good impression of a path drawing your eye to the castle, while featuring the castle strongly enough to be a point of interest.

The second puts more emphasis on the 'path' than the castle - but since the 'path' isn't well-defined, it can't really sustain that emphasis. (I'd also want to see the castle shifted a little more towards the right if you're going to do an off-center shot.)

The third is a good balance between emphasizing the castle and its immediate surroundings; I like the framing from the trees and the steep hillside.

The fourth shrinks the castle back down as a subject, and the people don't really do anything for me. It also feels like the castle should be shifted further to the right.

The last does a great job of emphasizing the castle in its entirety.

I like them both but the 1st more - a bit more drama there;-)

The trail less traveled was definitely worth the effort here, Nigel.

The colors and contrast are punchier in this set than I recall from others. I don't know if the light worked out that way or if you processed them differently, but i like the extra oomph here.

I do like a dramatic sky and these fill the bill. The images seem to be a blend of monochrome for the sky and color for the earth, which I like.
