Repair experiences for out of warranty repair.

My NX1 has been acting up. Sometimes freezing up, requiring a battery pull. Sometimes in manual mode, for whatever reason, the "smart" mode menu will come up for no reason. Third problem is it will re-boot and all the settings will change. And lastly sometimes pressing the ISO top button does not work. It's out of warranty, but that's OK, I've gotten some great usage out of it and it does work 99% of the time.

Basically I've decided to use it until it breaks. How much was it to repair and what was the experience like (especially post Samsung camera exit).

It differs by region, but here in Qatar for my 50-200 lens, in the end they would only offer to sell me a new one, and that was before the exit, so now probably no help whatsoever even to sell me stuff lol. No repair for any price, even at that time with a warranty replacement was the only option for the lens. They told me they were able to do repairs on lenses of the compact cameras though. .. not sure what they can do for the body.
 
All lens repairs that required new parts were done by replacing the lens AFAIK.

Sorry, but I can only tell you about my experience inside the warranty time. I send the nx1 to the German service point in Reutlingen. They repaired the main dial and did a very good job. They will repair your body also outside of the warranty time. Their service is fast, 10 days.
 
I was told (in Singapore) that they had no repair facilities anywhere, period, and that if it were out of warranty, there was nothing they could do. I even proposed sending it myself to South Korea to get it fixed, and they said that wasn't possible.

Still bitter about the experience :-)
 
Same that happened to me, Singapore is the regional distributor above Techno Blue for Qatar.
 
Has anyone found a repair facility for the NX1 in the US? I have problems with the mode dial switching from M to S and a host of Error 01 messages. I've used the Reset button several times and toe problem temporarily goes away and then returns.

I bought a backup NX1 so I could send the defective camera in for repairs and can't find a repair facility in the US. I'd consider sending it to Korea if someone has an address.

Thanks for any Service Center address anyone can provide.

From what I can tell, this is a very common problem (mine does it as well).

What I think it is: the top 2 dials are not "weatherproof" what so ever. Moisture can easily get in there and ruin the switch, there is no place for it to escape at the base.
