These are from files I made with M9 and 35 Summicron on a visit in 2012. Just having gotten another M9 this week, I've been looking at old files. These looked good to me so sharing here.

These are very fine shots, David. Besides the colors and the IQ, I very much liked your composition.

Best Regards,

well worth your efforts!

many places such as this do not like folks using tripods

being able to hand hold a 35 mm lens at 1/15 second is simple work for a rangefinder

more please (you did not happen to stumble upon Didem by any chance???)

Thank you Art-

Reading your comment about "no tripods permitted" I smiled and recalled this one below I snapped at the Blue Mosque. It speaks for itself about what is permitted! Your point is a good one, nothing like a small unobtrusive camera with great glass to make the photograph!

As for Didem, sadly not... I think I'd have remembered ;)

Beautiful. This place is a headache for photography. One would never now where to start and when to stop. Love your composition and that first shot is gorgeous.

i had a dslr when I first visited that place, now I wonder how my M9's shutter sound would echo inside the cathedra :-)

have you discovered the benefits of the Discreet shutter advance?

I use it regularly at music venues, including classical and have asked folks seated adjacent to me if the shutter noise was noticeable

using proper RF technique with Discreet shutter advance (well implemented on the M9, IMHO) so I control the second phase for loud passages or even hide it with a cough ( ;-) ) helps more than you think holding the camera firmly against your skull which greatly amplifies the sound you hear, while deadening that which others hear

if you haven't tried it, you might find yourself less concerned about echos inside the cathedra & enjoy the lovely shutter sound even more

No offense taken at all, thank you for sharing that Art. Here is one (however off topic of Mosques :) where I needed to keep silent and be discreet. CZJ singing Send in the Clowns M8 and 28 cron

And a PS to the last post, I had forgotten about that feature since acquiring my "new" M9. Thank you again for the sugestion, I just tied it out. Reminiscent of the quiet advance on the old Hexar AF! :)
