I played around with these in ACR and/or Viveza just to brighten things up a bit.

I don't find anything very sharp in the second one, but very much like the first one.

Very nice job on the processing. The White Balance is superb.

Assume you were shooting thru the glass? If so esp good result.

Hi

It was very difficult for me to get anything sharp as that arena is so GD cold and I didn't have my monopod! There is a break from the glass in that corner but I was back and forth from behind it to clear of it and can't recall from where these were taken..

Nice captures, though as with BarryWpg, agree first image very good.

Noticed from the images EXIF your using PSE 9. Curious if you use Adobe DNG Converter to convert FZ1000 RAW files or Viveza (not familar with Viveza) able to convert FZ1000 RAW files? Aware the ACR version compatible with PSE 9 does not support the FZ1000.

I and other FZ1000 users here are very please how DxO Optics Pro Elite Prime Noise PP Panasonic RAW images.

Can see my post HERE with comparison of ImagingResource.com studio scene 1600 ISO FZ1000 JPG image and RAW image PP with DxO Optics Pro Elite.

FWIW all the classic car photos in my FZ1000_RRPL album are at 1600 ISO PP with DxO Optics Pro Elite.

Cheers,
Jon

Hi

Ya, nothing special about 2nd picture at all just new the dad of the kid.

The original file is a JPEG brought onto PSE9 via ACR (open as...RAW). Limited options here but usually good enough to make picture "gooder"!

Viveza is one of the plugins I received with the Silver Effex Pro package (which is pretty sweet).

Indoor action sports are always tough. The FZ1000 did a fairly good job at focusing. My RX10 can really struggle in low light. I agree with Barry, you did a great job with white balance.
