I've enjoyed using services to which I upload photos and then receive prints. I'm wondering where members of this group are finding the best print quality, paper and print devices, for their special prints (they're all special, I know...)?

Any recommendations welcomed, thanks,

Michael

I really favor PhotoAccess.com after trying some of the others. Excellent prints. Their interface is also much better than some of the other services that have been recommended.

EPixel is one I was curious about but their upload and order entry site is so abysmal I won't encourage them to leave it as-is by giving them business.

I've been very happy with EZprints.com -- see their screen calibration stuff under the help menu to aid in getting back stuff which matches what you send in.

On the other hand, local digital printing is getting really competitive against the the mail-order places. Fuji has a new front-end to their digital minilab machines (Fuji Frontier systems) on the customer-side of the one-hour-photo desks at places like Wolf Camera, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, and others. Quality may vary with the personnel at the individual store -- but I've been getting results as good or better than any mail-order place at my local Sam's Club. The folks behind the counter don't mess with the images, they just run them as they come in from the kiosk.

I can burn stuff to a CD, walk into my local Sam's Club, and get prints on their Fuji Fontier 390 in an hour. $0.19 per 4x6, $0.69 per 5x7, and $1.89 per 8x10. Compare to EZprints.com's $0.49/4x6, $0.99/5x7, $2.95/8x10

I live in the US, but I use a firm that is located in the UK. They are http://www.photobox.co.uk

They have been rated the best in Europe, and the quality is great. The price per print is very reasonanble, and the shipping is about $4 to the US. Also, I usualy have my prints within 5 days after I place my order! They print on both glossy and matte fuji crystal archive paper, which is a big plus. I highly recommend them.
