I spent a lovely day shooting with my XT-1.

I always reformat in camera before I start shooting. Disk has been in use for a long time and has been 100% reliable. Sandisk Extreme pro 95Mb, 16 Gb.

Shooting RAF+JPG. Chimped all day, images were there. I have been using this exact setup for several weeks with no problems

Download to LR5 and was notified of "invalid file format". No images. Using OS10.9.4

Ran Disk Utility and the disk was fine. Still no images.

Rebooted. No joy.

Put SD card back in the camera - no joy.

Opened the SD drive - all files are there with appropriate file sizes and extensions. Double click to open, no joy in Photoshop or Preview.

Tried Stellar Phoenix which reported "invalid files." Tried Pixillion which didn't see them at all.

So questions:

1/ anyone have this problem?

2/ anyone have a fix?

3/ anyone have an explanation? Am reluctant to continue shooting with the XT1 till this is resolved

Thanks in advance.

Before doing anything else I would try another SD card. In my own experience the "invalid file" message has always been card related. Cards can go bad.

Which versions of software are you using? You need LR 5.4 or later to import X-T1 files.

You need ACR 8.4 or later to open X-T1 files in Photoshop. You need Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.04 or later to open them in Preview or Aperture.

Thnx Robnich and Randy.

Going to junk the suspect SD card because it's a cheap fix.

Since someone will eventually find this thread with the same problem...

Sandisk used to offer a file recovery/rescue utility Called Rescue Pro. Apparently they no longer offer it directly.

However it is available through LC Technology International. They have several versions for both Mac and PC. The Standard is all you need for Fuji and it recovers both the RAF and the JPG.

Better yet they have a free Demo which recovers up to 25 pix. I had hundreds but at least I knew that when I purchased it would work.

I tried half a dozen others - none of which even saw the files.
