Has anybody delt with this company (http://www.procamerashop.co.uk/)? Noticed they have the 5D MkIII on sale for 1,927.99 + another 3% discount if you pay by bank transfer.

Thanks

Danny

Not bought from these guys, but I have bought stuff (5D II and 100-400L Lens) from HDEW, who are a similar outfit. Basically, their gear is mostly grey market imports, and they are up front about this, not trying to pass it off as anything else. You get a 14 day 'return without question' option, which I believe they honour with no problems. They offer their own warranty, which I've had to take advantage of once with my 5D II, again with no problems at all. I am soon to be in the market for a 5D III, and would not hesitate in buying from them again. It all boils down to whether you are comfortable buying grey market, with the warranty implications that this has.

I bought mine from there, arrived quickly and I am happy with their customer support too. But it's a grey import (from hong kong I believe) with seller warranty only. Manual is in english though.

Thanks a lot guys, was very helpful.

Another place worth looking at is HDEW. Again, they are grey but they are UK based, and i believe come with a UK Warranty and invoice.

About the same price although no 3% off.

Bought my 5D Mark iii kit yesterday and it arrived today. Looks perfect although still to be tested.

Delivery company and Procamerashop were very helpful in arranging a flexible delivery which changed as the day of delivery progressed.

Can't fault them.

Update, very pleased, the camera even had the latest firmware in it. Also registered camera and lens on Canon UK website, no problem

Just ordered an item from them as well will let you know how it goes.

You can register a Nikon on the Canon website without any issues ;-).

Seriously, you can put in any old number and as long as it has enough numbers the website will accept It.

Im just pointing that out, not saying there is any issues with your gear.

Anyway, welcome to the club. You're going to love using this camera.

Hi dan1e,

Just really reinforcing what others have said - I have bought 3 lenses from them in the last 6 months - all arrived in a few days with no problems. Very happy with the service and they even changed the delivery address for me after order.

Will use them again

All the best

I recently purchased two items on separate occasions from Procamerashop, a 6D and a 35mm F2 IS. Both items were far less expensive than any "official" dealer and both arrived within a few days. Unfortunately, the 6D had to be returned later because I got it wet and it failed. Procamerashop gave me the address to post the 6D to, an official Canon repairer in Colchester, UK. Procamerashop refunded me £10 of the £12 it cost me to insure and post it.

The repair shop seem to have done a good job, replacing some corroded parts, and returned the camera, taking about three weeks to do the job including postage each way. The warranty was voided because getting the camera wet was my fault, not a camera defect, and the sum total was £271.

So, all in all, I am very pleased with Procamerashop's service and will definitely use them again when the needs arise.

Having said that, also take a look at Panamoz for some very good prices too. Have used them before with no complaints and quick service.

There is currently an issue with this firm in the UK, they appear top have some problem with their warehouse and have accoring to a phone call and email I received this week, have stopped all order processing and were refunding monies for outstanding orders

I purchased an item on 21st Aug and was refunded yesterday, can't say I am happy , as I would have preferred the goods, however their actions and communications were clear and swift, and the monies were returned promptly

I asked if they would recommence sales and was told that this would happen, but they advised me to buy the item elsewhere, timescales appear unclear, as is the cause of the problems

I bought my 600ex flash from a company called Digital Rev again based in Hong Kong it arrived within 2 days and has worked perfectly. I think they have a similar returns policy too.

Just checked their website and nothing comes up. If they've gone out of business, I guess my 6D warranty is now worthless.

Hi

Just an update - My Canon 5D Mark III arrived by UPS courier. I am very pleased with the service provided by ProCameraShop who kept me informed at all stages of the transaction.

Really pleased with the cameras, heavier than I thought it would be, really well put together.

Sorry to see the site's off-line at the moment, if it comes back I will definitely use them again.

Thanks to everyone who provided excellent feel-back.

Danny

I emailed Procamerashop and they replied that they were experiencing some major issues with their system which had also affected their website. They intend to be back for business.

Gone but not dead ...
