What kind of an Owl is that?, Owls look different in Canada.

The first shot is very nice; looks like you missed focus on the second shot, though.
 
You did very well with the first one especially considering the relatively slow shutter speed. If this is hand held, that is impressive with this heavy lens. How much cropping have you done? I might like more of a vertical style to get rid of the black shape on the right side.

Thanks but i was sitting on my sofa and happened to look out and there he was..so i ran in the other room got my camera and hurried to take the shots...not much crop at all....wish the 2nd shot had been sharper but it is what it is...!!!
