M9 in San Francisco -with MATE, 50 lux pre-asph

Whoa! Ashwin. Those are fantastic! Great great stuff. Love the bridge, the streetcar, and the second from the last one is just amazing. Wow. Love the airport shot as well.

For most of these anyway... missed them and just found them today. Hope it warmer at Fort Point than it was when I was there a month or so ago. I'm told that September and October are the best months to visit SF.

Looks like you're having a lot of fun with that gear.

The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear used to capture it.

Great to hear from you. I was actually visiting SF in late August. We lucked out and got a great week-end, albeit a bit blustery. I had such fun "discovering" these unique vantages, and I'd love to see what magic you rendered while in SF yourself with the 5DII (?). Hope all's well, my friend. Miss your presence over here, though I have been a stranger too long as well...how life pulls one in too many directions...alas!

Numbers four and seven are fantastic... I'm wondering if crouching a bit lower for #4 would make the hill (California St.? Powell St.? I think California) as steep as it looks on location).

I went over the 4th of July and it was quite cold in the bay area... Fort Point was freezing.. honestly, my teeth were chattering... in July!

I barely used the 5DII... I mainly used the GF1. If you wish to see what I did, I have several sections on the GF1 page at Boxed Light. Here's the link: http://www.boxedlight.com/gf1/index.htm

The State Fair of Texas is getting ready to kick off. It is the largest state fair in the country and should offer some good photo ops.. other than that.. it's nothing but work these days.

Take care.
