Have a new Canon s820 and I really like it. So much that I can see myself printing a ton of stuff, obviously Canon cartridges are too spendy. Anyone who has used the TM cartridges or Weink have a preference to quality? Or is there another I should consider? Thx

Especially in view of the fact that a couple of months back on this forum one person was lauding the Weink and deriding the TM inks.

I am a very happy TM user. Can't beat their price and service.

FYI - Most replacement inks in the US come from the same sources. I often get a good laugh when I hear the arguing between brands... they are the same inks... the only thing to differentiate each of the replacement ink suppliers is the service they provide.

I'm confused. Looking at the websites, it seems that Weink provides a refillable cartridge with plugs while TylerMartin provides a cheap one use replacement cartridge. Is this correct? Is it just the ink itself that is the same? Which is more cost effective, a cheap (

refillable system from Weink??
Both of these companies supply pre-filled cartridges which are identical. The refillable cartridges and bulk ink is a different story.

Any info on CIS unit other than the Camel I tried last month?

Rex

I also remember reading somewhere that the prefilled cartridges were identical, but if you order the bulk do-it-yourself ink from weink, that it is different, higher quality, ink.

i always thought people were comparing the refillable tanks from weink to the pre-filled carts from TM.

how do those two stack up?

And is there any harm in switching from OEM to TM and back when they aren't anywhere near empty?

Rex,
not yet. the only other system out there requires that the cover of
the S9000 be cut, and I'm leary of selling an item which requires
the cutting of the top cover... i'm still working on a solution...

OK thanks. I don't much want to cut into my printer.

Rex

ok now how about your inks. pretty nice price on the 4 oz refill.
thanks ya'll. jan
They come from the same source as most other bulk ink suppliers... they are a high quality OEM replacement dye based ink. We just recently started selling them after our own frustration of not being able to get good ink at a reasonable price... so we have gone straight to the source.

Rex, What was your experience with the Camel? I did a search but
couldn't see anything from you about it on this forum. I assume
since you're not using it you had some reservations - could you
share them?
The Camel is the same as the UltraFlow from Weink. I have read where some people are having very good results from their setups. I, on the other hand, did not have such good results. I set the system up as per the instructions, but on Kodak, Epson and Red River papers I had such terrible ink pooling that I sent it back for a refund. There were literally puddles of ink standing on the paper when it came out. When dried, it looked like paint spatters on the prints.
This is my experience and as the saying goes:"YMMV"

I have a Canon S800 and just returned 13 cartides to WeInk. The pictures printed with WeInk were VERY Blue compared to printing with Canon S800 cartridges.

I'm looking for a third party cartidge that's more like Canon's but cheaper - I agree they're pricey.
