Will my FZ28 battery charger work in Japan? - help please.

I will be travelling to Japan next week. Checked the ratings on my charger, it says 110-240V. Japan is on 100V. Do you think my charger will work fine on this? Is there any sort of adapter I need to buy?

To add extra confusion; You also have to look at the used contact/plug;

in europe the adapter and plug look like this: (We use 220V.)



However in the states they have a different plug and i think different currentconverter in the adapter to 110V ?

Why can't they darn standarize all current plugs and household currency systems all over the planet?? lol.

Yes, your battery charger will work just fine, and the plug adapter is the same. While your charger is listed at 110/220 and Japan operates at 100, all it means is that your charger may take a little bit longer to charge, and you're certainly not over-charging it at 100. I have been to Japan many times over the years, and I know from experience that camera battery chargers, electric shavers, etc., all work fine in Japan.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my query. I really hope this charger works so that I can take more snapshots of Japan. Maybe I should get 1 more extra 3rd party battery.

Charged a TZ5 battery last November in Tokyo. No problem.

BTW Tokyo was an absolute delight. Probably beats Paris in our estimation. Food was less expensive than Los Angeles, and English or picture menus abounded.

I live here. You will have no problems.

I don't think charging time will vary because these are all using voltage regulators anyhow. It is not like a transformer that outputs a ratio of the input.

Most appliances will operate no problem at plus/minus the nominal voltage stated.

However, it is a little weird - all the multivoltage stuff I have ever bought has a range of 100~240volts that will cover any global travel.

I just came back from Japan. The charger is working fine.
