Guys,

Does any of you have any information about the new electronic charge control in the EXR sensor?

I think, it is the most important thing that will make EXR sensor a better sensor. But yet there is so little information about this matter.

Other technique in the EXR is only as good as six megapixel fujifilm camera unless the ECC is better.

I havent seen any info either.I am on the fence with the LX3...or the new fuji...

Don't be "on the fence." Like the F31fd, the LX3 will be a classic. It is available now (as you know), but may not be for long. The new Fuji EXR camera will be here whenever and I too will most probably fork over for one.

Cute, slick little video, but really nothing more than an ad.

One thing I'd love to know: Why aren't hexagon-shaped pixels (like the old Super Sensor) better than octagons? Hexagons fit together with no space in between (noise), while octagons have spaces in between. I'm sure there must be a simple answer.

I've never seen a hexagonal shaped sensor from Fuji. AFAIK they have always been an octagonal shaped design.

Remember those F30's, F31's ???

The website link I just posted was blocked, but if you input "Fuji Super CCD Hexagon" into Google, one of the first few links will take you to a write-up of the F30. The site is Lets Go Digital. Hexagon pixels.

I believe those are typos (from various websites). If you look at even the oldest design (including the SR wit its odd shape) you'll see that they are all octagonal in design. But I could be wrong and if you find an official link please let me know.

Well, I don't know what to say if you're alleging that everything else must be typos. I just read another review over on dcresource on the A310 (dated 2003), and even back then, all the reviews stated the use of hexagonal pixels and used the word "honeycomb" to describe. If you can show something that says otherwise, I'd be darned curious to read it.

Update: Just read another article that says the old pixels were octagonal...

http://www.radugrozescu.com/photo-tech/fuji-superccdinterpolation.html

and ANOTHER article that says the sensor was hexagonal...not the pixels.

I give up on this stuff....
