Great discovery / invention. Did you make the diffuser or bought it?

I've never seen anything like it and a google search didn't turn it up. Where did you find it?

I had the same problem with the shadows. When the lens is extended, which it is when you are shooting the wide angles with the 16-45mm, it blocks the light from the pop-up flash at the top of the the lens, which shows at the bottom of your pictures. And taking the lens hood off does not help. When I first had this happen and called Pentax, they identified the problem as it is a known issue. My solution was to get a new external flash. Certainly this solution would have been less expensive, but I wanted a new flash anyway.

Regards, Jim

Dear Jim,

This diffuser gave the great lighting to eliminate hard shadow from direct onboard/external flash too.

Not tried it as Ma's 16-45 is at Pentax (they're trying to make it perform at least as well as the kit lens) but it works well on other stuff

Not going to work as well as that massive diffuser thing but its less conspicous and Free :)

Maybe it will hit the States some day. I like the way it collapses.

Thanks Adam for the diffuser.
I tried it.
But it is not working with DA16-45, the strange shadow still appeared.
DA 16-45 is reverse zoom type, the lens will long in the wide end.
