E-10 Potd

Great shot Alan.

I am going to be in Vallejo for about three weeks on a job soon. Hope to have time to visit the redwoods. Would truly love to get a shot like that!

A wonderfull picture - I wish I'd taken it !--Alan Scott

Thanks everyone for the comments. I feel lucky to get the shot, I was originally looking the opposite way and turned around and saw that and put it to the ccd. For those that are interested the metering was center weighted, which is what I always use, and taken at the widest setting of the standard lens.

Thanks again.

I would be proud if this was my shot but Alan is yours and I congratulate you for that 1st prize photograph--Jacques http://www.geocities.com/cam2000.geo/

Hi Alan,

I just moved to Hydesville half a year ago. And after seeing all of the trees, I've been thinking so hard about how one could possibly take a shot of something so boring. Well, you did it. That's the value here. I see other perspectives. Love it.
Thanks,
Gregg

PS There's actually a lot of old victorians that should be shot, for historical purposes if nothing else, around here.

Love my E-10!

Just beautiful Alan. Brought back memories. Many years ago I spent 4 summer months working at Sequoia Nat'l Park and remember the redwoods with awe--you captured what I remember. That light is wonderful.

A very well deserved prize. It's a great shot - it is one thing to be at the right place at the right time, but another to be able to capture it so well.

Suffice to say, I love the photo.
