A few weeks ago I started a thread showing pictures that I was creating into a calendar through Mpix. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1034&message=25732600 I just got them back and they turned out better than I had hoped. The quality (paper, binding) rivals any calendar that I have purchased. I spent the extra $5 to get them to me quickly and they were at my door literally 24 hours after I made the order. I can't say enough about t.

That's good to hear. I used MPIX for the 1st time about a month ago to print some photos that I entered in a local photo contest. I had them mounted and I thought they did an outstanding job at a great price. I REALLY like the metallic paper prints and they did a great job on their B&W prints as well. Processing was fast and shipping was in a sturdy box with the prints safely wrapped in a sleeve. I'm a happy MPIX customer!

I think there all great shots and I am sure your mom's sisters will love the calender.

I really like one of your shots escpecially, do you mind if I use it for a background on my pc?

I remember your original thread and the shots which are quite stellar! I'm glad to hear the calendar came out well, I put one together about a week ago and look forward to getting from mpix.

I ordered one of their photo books back in September as a present for my wife. 50 pages and about 200 shots taken over the past ten years. Was very happy with the service and the quality of the book (lots of brownie points :} ).

I remember your original thread. That should be a spectacular calendar.

I had Mpix make some 12 x 12 prints on regular and metallic paper and ordered some playing cards. If you don't have one, be sure to request a paper sample kit.

Everything shipped promptly. Quality was great. Only thing I didn't like was not being able to consolidate the orders. Paid three shipping charges for what I felt should have been one order.

Had a calendar made at Walgreens (don't laugh). First attempt. Turned out great. Opted for their bigger calendar on heavier stock and am quite pleased with it. Layout tools were easy to work with.

My local Walgreens is also a pretty good source for 4 x 6 prints. Compared to my local camera store, I can not tell the difference between the two with a test print of my color checker card cut apart and laid one on top the other. The only difference I do notice is I have more money in my wallet after I pay the bill.

I used MPIX for my calendars last year and the quality was only OK. Their printing process on the card stock seemed to create vertical lines/banding that was quite visible in areas without a lot of detail (ex: blue sky). I had the same issue with Kodak. I also find the MPIX software painful to use.

This year I did about 8 calendars through Shutterfly and was impressed with the quality. They don't do edge to edge printing, but their online system is fast and easy.

I still like MPIX best for prints.
