Tired of Phil's dictatorial ways

I understand that Phil has banned Dr. Gonzo. I see no reasonable
basis for Phil's doing this except to demonstrate that this is HIS
site and he can do whatever he wants. Well so long Phil, from
Frank B. I voluntarily (Phil has never banned me or threatened to)
will stop posting to these forums. There are other forums on the
internet. I find that that the way Phil runs the forums is just
too dictatorial.

So long fellow posters, it has been great looking at your photos
and discussing the E-10. Hopefully, we will run into each other
again on other forums and rec.photo.digital

Frank you never "worked" as a mod of a forum? You never ban someone without a reasson. Phil waited very long and give Dr.Gonzo the chance to change his behavior. But Dr.Gonzo didn't learned anything. So Phil have to ban him.

Some weeks ago there was again some problem with someone else in the minolta forum. Again Phil waited, so that everything can calm down. But it doesn't. So he had to write this in the end to stop the problem:

I don't think he dictate the forums. He pointed out rules. If you don't like it, you don't have to stay.

Personally I prefer a forum with mod's, because of all the "Dr.Gonzo"'s.

I miss this forum too much. I have given it more thought and decided to post again. I agree with Phil's rules, but disagree with the way he has been enforcing them (e.g. Dr. Gonzo being banned). Although Phil has never threatened to ban me I was getting concerned that my own posts were being affected by "worries" about how Phil might react.

Since I have no problem with his rules I have decided not to worry about it and post as I see fit. I do hope he lifts the ban on Gonzo and also on Adwiser.

One good thing that came out of it was that I discovered a new digital camera and Exx forum Digital Dingus at:

Gee Leif, Nice of you to come all the way over here from the Minolta forum just to get a dig in. In reality several in that Minolta forum should have been banned but I doubt you would admit to that. So why don't you and your buddies go back to Bryan Biggers site, and gloat. Maybe Phil will get over there to that site one day and finally get a good Idea of what is really going on and how another over there intentionally looks to bait and do what he claims is troll hunting.. Minolta Man specifically should have been banned and you know it. The complaint here was about Double standards, and unfair treatment. Leif should you be banned cause you are in this forum posting your opinion? I think not!

Don't leave on the count of Phil. Continue to speak your mind and use this forum. Phil can do what ever he wants, he is only a master in his own mind. I read his reviews with much amusement never expecting anything but the usual biased drival. If not for the forums, I would never come here. He has one web site among a hand full of simular sites. No big deal. Coming here or not coming here won't help or hurt him. If you really want to do something, just don't click on any of his advertisments. Now that will hurt him. I have spent over $6000 in one year through his advertisements last year. So far this year, I have not spent a penny, nor do I plan on it. As for banning people go, phil may not be as smart as we give him credit for. He can NEVER ban anyone. All one has to do is sign up under a new identity, big deal. Sorry Phil, you can not censor the Internet. You only think you can : )

The only thing sadder then Phil's ridiculous attitude, are his loyal groupie followers that worship the pixels he distorts.

Dr. Gonzo is only guilty of one thing. being honest, and speaking his mind. Ok, may be one other thing too, disagreeing with Phil.

So consider using Phil's forums without spending a dime from here instead of leaving. That works for me ; )

As usual you are not informed. Even your buddy that made the inital post was confused and claimed Gonzo and I were one and the same. Whats interesting is that the problems I encountered were related to the D7 and my experiences with it. My opinon which was only posted in a response to another's question posted in the Minolta forum was disliked and met with hostility. It appears you guys are still whining about it. The reality is that if anyone visits the Minolta forum and investigates my claims they will see that I was right on the money. Heck , all you have to do is go to Bryan Biggers Private Minolta forum where you had some gloating because they were attempting to bait and cause trouble, and you can not only see that but you can see where even Bryan was having trouble with his own D7. Oh well I guess that is just another work around and not a quality control issue again. The bottom line here is that several of the owners of the D7 in your forum wanted to put down the Olympus E-10 and E-20 and made some untrue statements about them in comparision to the D7. Also the same people made some very misleading statements about the D7. Gonzo and I called you on them. Since we did, you guys just could not stand it and started personal attacks and it seems that there is an attempt to carry them over here. Phil even had to remove several threads because of the immature behavior and derogitory remarks that were of a personal nature that were specifically directed at me. They had nothing to do with the facts of what I presented, just like you do not have all the facts in regard to what has happened with Gonzo. Unless you and Phil had a conference in regard to the details, I doubt seriously that you know anything more than anyone else does. In fact you show you are clueless just in the statement you have made in regard to me. So go debate this with someone else. I do not have time for it. I just pointed out the obvious like I did when I posted in the Minolta forum. The obvious is that you came over to this forum to gloat and anyone who really looks can see that. My interest is talking photography and Digital camera's so go find another to play with. There are plenty that hang around the forums you usually are in.

Leif, the Minolta forum is a bad joke at best. The good Doctor has on a number of occasions simply tried to point out discepencies with the regular posters there that accuse others of provoking when all they do is merely point out facts or post their opinions which differ with the Minolta code of denial. I too have had nothing but bad experiences from that forum. I bought a D7 to test out and I thought it was a DOG and said so. I was of ccourse attacked by every D7 owner, and their mother when ever I a d7 owner would point out the many, many faults of the camera. Though I only replied to newbies questions and never attacked any one, I was attacked each time. Phil should have banned every one in that forum because they are their own worse enemies, and guilty of the very crimes they accuse others of. In my opinion the only thing the D7 is good for is a paper wieght. Should I be banned now? I also stated that the CP5000 is junk, funny, most Nikon folks agree. I also never fail to point out any of the E10/20's short comings here, and guess what Leif, no one has cried to Phil about it. Even though some would strongly disagree with me, they at least allow me the opportunity to speak my mind, and opinions without crying to Phil. Gonza was also a regular here, and even though not everyone agreed with everything he may have said, his input was at least accepted as sincere. It really is disturbing to see that a few soft skin whinners suceeded in banning a long time contributer.

That's funny. Crime, Enemies and ... We should call the police.

I also stated that the
CP5000 is junk, funny, most Nikon folks agree. I also never fail to
point out any of the E10/20's short comings here, and guess what

Sorry that I have repeat it. But if you came over and over to a forum and make such statement like yours (In my opinion the only thing the D7 is good for is a paper wieght) you know what kind of response you get. That was not you, but Dr.Gonzo's style. Pointing out flaws of a camera is one thing, but he try to provoke people. One of this thread already confirm this.

He was also a regular here, and even though not everyone agreed > with everything he may have said, his input was at least accepted as

Maybe he was a regular in this forum. I can't know it, because it's my first time in this forum. I can see it only from the point of his threads in the Minolta forum.
