Cute little tripod.

Darn it. I've been looking for a small tripod that is somewhat
firm. I am looking for one more around 6-7 inches high, that could
fold out to maybe 18 inches or something. I'm going on a trip, and
want everything to fit in my camera bag. That's a nice tripod
though. Looks strong yet compact. I might just get it if I can't
find something a bit smaller for my bag.
There's one at http://www.bugeyedigital.com/product_main/kal-np19tll.html that doesn't open up quite that much, but looks interesting:

"Super compact mini tripod for your gadget bag. Great for 35mm point and shoot and digital cameras. Legs extend from 4.25" to 10" in length with tension ball locks. Folds up to 1" diameter and 6.75" length. Fully adjustable locking ball head capable of allowing camera lens to point from straight up to straight down. Locking collar allows legs to open almost flat for low angle/macro shooting. Non slip rubber leg tips. Practically all metal construction."

There's a larger one at http://www.bugeyedigital.com/product_main/seq-sq800m.html:

"Compact design for portability and easy operation with digital cameras, SLR and popular mini camcorders
2-way pan head features quick release camera platform
Geared center column
Quick release leg locks
Light weight - 14oz
Minimum height - 10-1/2"
Maximum height - 19-1/2"
20mm closed channel legs
Center brace for stability"

Pedco, at http://www.pedcopods.com/ , make some interesting items. The Ultrapods are tiny, but they include a velcro strap that can be used to attach the camera to branches, small trees, fence posts, etc.----Mike Wright

I recently bought a Falconeyes mini-tripod, mdl MT-260, works as an effective 6" monopod, or expands to a 11" high relatively sturdy tripod. All metal, seems quite well-built and sturdy. I got mine in a photo shop in Holland, but have seen the (I think) same unit at Ritz Camera in the US -- price is around $10.

Canada
Was in the city today to run some errands, and planned to stay the
night there with my family. I realized I forgot my tripod, so I
piched up this little tripod for just $30.00 (don't forget I'm in
Canada). After running some errands we went out to the car and a
wicked snow storm was brewing, so I guesse that I didn't need to
get the tripod. I,m not sure if I want to keep it or not. I have
thought of several situations that I might be able to use it, and
if I want to it is verry easy to hold the camera and tripid for
handheld use. If I want to use the tripod, just have to set it on
the table. Also, I have once had a time where I used my tripod and
couldn't get it low enough for the shot that I wanted. Anyway, just
thought it was kinda neat and thought I'd share it with you.

Oh, I used my old camera, And almost forgot how to use it. I was
pushing all the wrong buttons.

Richard,

I had the problem of too many accessories to fit in my large London Fog gadget bag that I got from Ritz. I went looking and at Office Max I found an American Tourister Portfolio/Computer Case model #930675 that is perfect to hold almost everything. It is 16 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 5 1/2" and has tons of compartments and is padded. If I want it will hold everything I have except my big tripod and it would also hold a laptop computer when I get one. It only costs $30. I'll post a couple of pics of it at my pbase.

I look forward to seeing it.

Let's see a picture of your mono/tri pod. Thanks......

You can see it now in my misc pics at pbase. I just like it as I plan to soon get a laptop to go with all my other junk.

That is a nice bag. When I got my camera, I bought a case with lots of padding and lots of room. About 2 weeks later,I went out and bought a bigger bag because it was't big enough. This one has very litthe padding (lots of pockets though) so I put the other camera case inside. If the orriginal case was a little smaller, the tripod would fit in the bag to, but I don't dare put the camera in loose. Anyway, I'll make do for now. Good to have something in mind for the future though. I posted a picture of it somewhere in this thread.
