After the Office Party

Hi Keith
Jono,

Lovely images - just what I had hoped the M8 would be good at. I
want one of those - and an M8!!
LOL - I've got a classic model of those - suits me perfectly! The M8's good too!
Robert White is now closed for the
holidays and still no call from them. Guess I'll need to be patient
a bit longer
I'm sure there'll be a big batch soon - as far as I can tell they've been making them all along, so I'd guess they'll come out in a rush in the new year.

kind regards

HI Clive
I’ll go with #’s 1 and 4. Thanks for the techie details posted with
the images—how about b&w conversion: in-camera or pp?
Glad you like them. They were all shot in b&w jpg only - little bit of cropping and levels adjustment in PS CS3 - Most of the PP involved cloning out a milk bottle from on the table!

best wishes

Hi Joanie
I've looked at these 6 times already ... they're just great, and
what a wonderful young woman to allow you to post ... the last one
has me laughing out loud, remembering those days when I used to
party instead of sitting at home like an old fart. ;-)
Well, in this case the party came to us (we're the old farts)
Number 3 is my favorite. Thanks, Jono, and hope you continue having
fun for the holidays.
Glad you like them - I hope you get up off that chair and out for a bit!

have a great Christmas

Hi Angus
Those are wonderful, candid shots. And what a player that young
lady is. In the last shot she seems ready to tell you..."that's
just about enough".
LOL - the first one says that too . . . .and you should see the ones of my son!

Thank you for looking - I'm glad you liked them.

have a great Christmas
best wishes

Hi Bob
Hi Jono,
What comes to mind when I look at this fine collection is that they
would look very interesting printed as a collage. I think each of
your captures add to the others.

I haven't actually printed any of them yet - Christmas shopping intervened. I must wind up my quadtone rip!

have a great Christmas

they are not! but slice of life they truly are and looks like quite a memorable evening. The photos remind me that I can still do the same things myself - it just takes me a week or so to get over it!

Merry Christmas, and thanks for posting these!

I had to laugh at your old fart comment, I often feel the same! As I said in my reply to Jono, I can still do the same things, it just takes me a week or so to get over it!

Merry Christmas from one old fart to another!

Steve,

I don't think it's the age, it's the mileage. ;-) sigh I don't feel any older mentally, but the wear and tear on the chassis makes me wish for an overhaul sometimes.

Merry, merry! :)

HI Irakly
is she smoking a joint? great party, where should i send a resume? :)
Now then, how could I possibly answer that one.

If I say it WAS a joint, then many of our (mostly american) friends would be horrified (bad enough that she's smoking). If I say that she WASN'T then lots of other people would be really disappointed.

No, I'm afraid it must remain a secret

:-)
(no wink notice)
Happy Christmas!

You mean you're only going to do it once over the Christmas holiday?

;-)

Surely you have more stamina than that?
Merry Christmas, and thanks for posting these!
Thanks for looking.

'Living is not enough -- we have to talk about it' -(Samuel Beckett)
I heard a lovely story about Samual Becket - some students in Cambridge got hold of his address in Paris, and when one of the less world wise students was going to Paris for a couple of days, they thought they'd play a (rather mean) trick on him by giving him Sam Beckett's address and saying he would be able to stay there.

The student duly rolled up at Beckett's place - was invited in, shown Paris, wined and dined and generally given the time of his life.

Happy Christmas to you too!

Not all Americans are that uptight! (Although, I can see how Europeans might get that impression.)

HI There
Not all Americans are that uptight! (Although, I can see how
Europeans might get that impression.)
I do understand that - I just remember posting a picture of a hemp leaf (from a field of hemp grown locally) , and having people say "I ought to report you to interpol" and suchlike.

Some of my best friends are American
ROFL

:-)

Jono,

Did you have your M8 with you or did you have to go and get it?

Just asking, as my M5 is a little large and I don't carry it with me at all times. I'm interested in the M8 and if people carry it around with them or if they just keep it ready some place.

I liked the images, glad you used B&W.

Hi Jono

These are great photos...of course you don't know how to take a bad one!! I do hope that we haven't lost you from the Oly site because you make it hum while others make it humbug!!

Belated Merry Christmas from Canada!!

In the Bag on the floor next to me.

Well, I always carry a small billingham bag around - holds the M8 and a couple of lenses and a couple of backup disks (2.1/2 drives). It's great after carrying around SLR gear!
I liked the images, glad you used B&W.
Thanks for looking
Happy New Year
