Welcome everyone to the 32st round of the Mini-Challenge for those with lower picture counts on their cameras, and to those early attempts to learn the use of your Pentax DSLR. The number this time around is 826.

No real good reason for this number, expect we have only had one previous 800 challenge. Hopefully there will be plenty entries and I look forward to seeing your pictures.

All picture numbers chosen for this challenge must be below 1000 and it is highly encouraged that the winner of this challenge pick a number much lower than 1000. You don't have to be a newbie to enter this contest but you are only allowed to submit the first time your camera reached the image number chosen (no rollovers please).

Per the regular Mini-Challenge rules, your "task" in the current challenge is to pick your Pentax dSLR image according to the number in the title and post it as a reply to this message.
Previous numbers (original order):

20, 37, 111, 77, 643, 666, 999, 185, 257, 351, 599, 410, 755, 511, 314, 46, 333, 222, 01, 105, 877, 477, 294, 42, 396, 55, 404, 87,500,927
Previous numbers (numerically sorted):

01, 20, 37, 42, 46, 55, 77, 87, 105, 111, 185, 222, 257, 294, 314, 333, 351, 396, 404, 410, 477, 500, 511, 599, 643, 666, 755, 877,927, 999

I'm going to run this challenge for one week, ending next Friday, November 10th , 20:00 GMT.

You are allowed (some would say encouraged) to post-process the image in any way.

Leave the exif data intact or not. It's up to you. I trust that only the appropriate image will be submitted.

Please post your entry as a reply to this post to make sure the judge sees it. Interaction (leaving comments) is welcomed.

... I'm just excited that I finally had one of these numbers for a change :-)
So here it is, my 826:

Nothing spectacular here, one of my favorite planting beds at the NY Botanical Gardens, but early on, the plants haven't had time to grow and develop much. I was trying to get the perspective right, not sure that I exceeded as much as I hoped. I had also just finished shooting some brightly backlit shots and had dialed down my EV, of course I had forgotten to return it to zero! So I had to lighten it up considerably in PSE 3.
Taken on my DS, kit lens at 18mm, f8 at 1/750. ISO of 400

Hi

Was taking a series of newb windsurfers. This effort was in the middle of a series of guys falling in the drink. A little late on the shutter but that's the way it goes.

The title of the shot is Where's The Beef.

F8 and be there.

OK - here is my 826.

This image is from last year. Our apples had been looking so for a couple of years. It is a parasite called "rönnbärsmal" in Swedish. What it is called in English I have not the slightest idea.

But - this year they were just fine!

*ist DS - kit lens at 55 mm.

It was the first exhibition game of the season, and the Rockets were in the process of losing. Doesn't look like the guys on the bench are too "into" the game.

Even bad photography can be fun :)

Through a borrowed A 50mm f/1.7. I was testing a bad haze problem under different lighting conditions so composition is null. Not sure why I kept this one more than 5 minutes, but I decided to have fun anyway.

Verbage is not a word, but a mangling of verbiage - differing in both print and meaning. It replaces more cumbersome words such as copy and text.
