It seems that the prosumer smaller camera no longer exists at Sony?? Along the Canon G series line is there no longer a Sony suitable replacement with new features such as stabilization, more pixels, fully manual, hot shoe. I do love my S75 and have taken thousands of pics with it but it is time for an upgrade and I don't want or need a 12x zoom and want something relatively small.

The H5 looks like a great camera - but it's too big for me. Really it is.....um.......yes......well........yes it is. period. No word on a nice little V4 coming soon?? Maybe after xmas I'll get more serious with the shopping, i never buy on impulse, heck I bought the s75 in 2001 and it's still rock solid.

But camera have come so far in recent years I want a new toy. Maybe a v4 announcement is in the near future.

I too loved my S-75, unfortunatly I ran over it with my car. Fortunatly the V series is out there still in used market. I bought 3 more S-75's on ebay since I crushed mine and they have all performed well.

Both are the pinnacle of their lines - the V3 is an excellent cam, the S85 an improved S75 with 4Mp & painted black :) ..

Both seem like nice units but going from a working s75 to 85 seems a bit pointless really and the V3 is a 2004 model which would not satisfy me. I don't change camera annually so I don't mind paying for it when I do buy, but it seems there is nothing available. I really want a V4 must be others out there also.

I want 6-8 mp, image stability, optical viewfinder, 4x-6x zoom, 28mm wide angle would be nice, manual controls, good battery life, sharp bright lcd, compact size not too small not too big, reasonable iso, good low light performance, fast lens. Plus all the Sony goodies.

I'm dreaming right??

Paul

I don't know if you're dreaming or not, but that's a lot of asking for a small camera. I know that HP had a small pocket sized camera demonstrated on our Canadian Shopping Channel just last week. It had 7 or 8 megpxls and all the bells and whistles on it that I found extremely interesting. Large LCD, instant lens protrusion response, in-camera red eye removal etc., etc.

It's the nicest looking pocket sized camera I've seen in a long while.

I don't know if it is on the Hewlett/Packard list of cameras on the forum as yet...it was just introduced.

Hope this bit of info sparks your interest. Good luck.! Oh, BTW, I own a V3 and wouldn't trade it for a smaller camera. Most V3 owners will agree with me on that.

I sort of thought my wishlist was a natural progreesion of the s series then v1, v3 and now.........V4??? Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, might as well aim high.

I'm sure the V3 takes great pics but I'm not going to replace my next camera any time soon and being over two years old already puts me a little behind tech wise in a shorter amount of time. I'd like to stay reasonably current when I buy.
