Why is the price difference for the k100 with or without the kit lens only $15-20, but the difference for the k110 with or without the kit lens is more like $70-90 ????????????

I highly appreciate your trust in the level of wisdom expected from the members of the forum. Surely I wish I could give you a good answer to your question. My best guess is that it is a sort of joke. First it is funny as noone understands why you buy the K110D. Then it is funny again as noone understands how you can pay that much extra for the kit lens. But I'm usually wrong.

Supply meeteth demand.

We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it—and stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove-lid. She will never sit down on a hot stove-lid again—and that is well; but also she will never sit down on a cold one any more. - Mark Twain

I guess I'm a bit removed from the current DSLR craze, but I still have and use a K1000, with several older Pentax lenses. I don't feel that SR is an absolute necessity for me, and feel that I just might like working with a K110.

I'm sure you're talking about the prices at beachcamera or buydig or another store like them. They are quite notorious for quickly adjusting their price depending on supply vs demand. One day they might have a camera for 600 bucks and sell most of them, then the next day up the price to 680 because they only have a few left. I just bought the k100 kit because the price with the lens included was just sooo good. I was going to get a k10 but will now wait until next spring to decide whether it's worth it to me. Bob.
