I have a Canon SLR and numerous lenses. I also have a telescope with numerous eyepieces. I have been browsing the web looking for a spotting scope.
What I would like to do is use one of my expensive Canon lenses for a spotting scope, I know people use spotting scopes for lenses, the results are generally OK, but you do not get auto focus. I would rather spend more money on a great auto focus Canon lens and then use the Canon lens as a scope. I would like an adapter that will allow me to hook up my 1 1/4” eyepieces to my Canon lens, I would use the manual lens focus to focus the image. This way I have fewer things to carry around on my boat which is where I often would use the spotting scope. I already have a Carbon Tripod with an Arca Swiss ball head to mount it on. The bigger Canon lenses already have ring holders that hook up to the ball head. If I could find an adapter I would gain a lot more functionality with minimal expense and minimal weight.
