I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere, but I can't find it after searching for 10 min. Thank you for helping out.

Is there any other advantages to the CANON firmware update other than the two issues on the web site??:

"EOS Digital Rebel Firmware Version 1.1.1 resolves the following issues:

It increases the reliability of RemoteCapture application when the camera is used.

It increases the reliability of operations when used on Windows XP and Mac OS X with [PTP] selected in [Communication]."

I have the old firmware and don't have any problems (that I know of), and am of the attitude "if it aint broke, don't fix it."

Thanks again,

Scott

These are indeed the only changes noted by Canon. There have been past endless debate of if there were any subtle changes, but nothing proven.

Yes, if it ain't broke... but this upgrade has been done and used by many thousands of users and is in all new Cameras. If you follow the upgrade procedure correctly you can be very confident in a successful update.

Bottom line for me is that while you think you never use these capabilties, one day you will be traveling or whatever and find a reason to use these capabilities and find that if you had done the upgrade it would have been good.
