I hate to admit it but this shot was basically point-n-shoot (program mode). I simply went with center-weighted metering and -2/3 balance fill flash. I'm really amazed at the flash results with the D2H.

This is my daugther playing in our pool on father's day.

great shot Joe

I chuckle when I read posts where guys are saying things like the 'd2h is hard to use' or 'has a big learning curve' and the like , I find it to be the Easiest* camera to use that I have ever owned , film or digital LOL

Here is one of my daughter. It was almost dusk. I set shutter to 1/30 to bring in outside light more. D2H did a nice balance!

Great Picture, the headshot of your daughter is really nice. In response to the gentleman who said the D2h was the easiest camera he's ever used, good for you, and not to take anything away Joe, but when you just point and shoot a camera on Program mode, you're supposed to get great results, duh!

Pre Pool Fathers Day Pic below (D2h/24-120VR/SB800) I think this one was manual, but I could be wrong, it may be Program.

Hi Joe, that really is a lovely result. Sorry to be a dunderhead, but when you say "and -2/3 balance fill flash" exactly where and hoe do you enter that correction please?

That depends on what flash you are using. I use the SB80DX and you simply push the "-" side (bottom) of the mulitfunction control twice. (It goes 1/3 stop with each push.) I imagine that the SB800 would be similar.

Ah, thanks Ted, that makes sense now. I've only had my D2H + SB800 package for a short while and I'm still catching up on reading the manuals. The SB800 manual does indeed refer to using the multi-selctor for this purpose.

Thanks John.

I couldn't agree more about the D2H. It's the most intuitive "machine" I've ever used.

Thanks Darrick. Like your shot very much as well.

I'm coming from the D100/SB80DX which was ANYTHING but idiot proof, especially when using balanced fill flash. :)

Thanks Dave. As Ted already mentioned - use the 4-way selector to dial down/up flash.
