I present:
  • Official Claim against the possibility of multiple votes to the poll: It shall be "one member, one vote", otherwise it is unfair.
  • Official Claim against the possibility of changing one's vote after viewing the current results: it is clearly unfair.
  • Official Claim aganst the fact that the end time for voting the poll, and proclaiming the winning choice is not stated
I ask to cancel the current poll votation, and to restart with one vote pro-capite, excluding the possibility of changing it after viewing results. A reasonable time for the poll closure shall be stated in advance.

Disagree. The idea is to each of us there could be several alternatives that are acceptable or more desired than others. That's clearly existing case. I do not see a case why "must pick one".

Don't see why is it "clearly unfair". Sounds fair to allow people change their mind -- there is no point in anonymity in this discussion. I want consensus, and there is nothing against it if someone changed their opinion after looking how others voted, and maybe having some extra considerations. Please someone correct me if I am wrong on any of these accounts.

Agree. Will be definitely fixed ASAP.

I do not agree with your previous arguments, so personally I do not think we should.

cropping up here as with the last time a poll was taken.

That is, 40 percent of the vote goes to then new request (revert to 1-2-3) while a total of 60 percent goes for not going back to the old system. However, since those 60 percent is broken up into several different questions, the 40 percent wins.

I pointed out this problem in an earlier post, but it was ignored.

Yes, I see where it goes...

John, the point was taken, and I think I addressed it by setting up the poll so that each voter can choose multiple options. Eg if you find acceptable any ten-vote format, you can select them all...

Also, if no option gets more than 50% vote and clear preference, I think we must have second round. (Note that with multiple options we can have more than one > 50%)

If you see what I am missing in all this, please tell me what is it?!

This is where the beauty of being able to change the vote comes in. You can view the results and if needed move your first priority vote to one that is acceptable to get it to win.

I think that no vote should win unless it receives over 50% of votes.

So keep watching the results folks and changing your vote if needed so we have a majority vote for one of the alternatives by the deadline.

Kind regards

... I withdraw my claims (It's just a game, isn't it?). And thanks to the Challenge Admin (isn't it you?) for setting up the poll. A number of different choices are proposed, each one with its pros and cons. Of course what was proposed by me is the best ;-) , but whichever we'll chose, no problem!
Ciao.
As many of you have seen, the poll has been set up:
http://www.termotronic.com/challenge/ , section "News".

Please note that everyone can select several options that would
be preferred or at least acceptable to them. I hope this should
allow us avoid a second round of vote. Thanks for sharing your
opinion!

Rapick, sorry I overlooked this response. Thanks, this is great attitude. I certainly hope the fun prevails in the end -- for everybody. :)

The poll -- yes it was me who set it up, and I am to blame for the results if they are inconclusive. :-/ I just checked them again: true - there is a certain leader, but it does not even reach 50%, even with multiple selection available to everyone... I really hoped for wider acceptance, and of more options too. It must have been right to just vote radical alternatives: "three" vs. "more than three"?...

Let's see how this one finishes now... We have couple more days, and I want to remind everybody it is possible to REVIEW and change your vote, and that MULTIPLE options are allowed.
The poll will close on Sunday 9-May-2004 11:00 GMT.
