An ABSOLUTE must-see!!

Agreed. I think the composition of the song and photos (that is, the syncing and the timing) is well done and quite refreshing to watch. I enjoyed the idea of juxtaposing the gentle and touching aspects of the wedding with the fun, dance and excitment. However, the photos didn't do much for me at all, and felt very repetitive after the first slow-to-fast sequence trasnsition.

I really think the song is what carries this presentation, not the photos, just my opinion.

But if the photographer is a beginner I would certainly give her an
A for effort and creativity.

The slide show software might be worth a look.
Yes, I realize I'm shouting but here is a link to a 40 meg
download. Yes, it's big. Yes, it's totally worth it. This is
this gal's first or second wedding with the 10d and what she did
with this slideshow is just...well, see for yourself:

You'll need the sound on, but be careful because the song volume
rises and falls. Almost woke up the little one today while playing
it!!

If you read the whole thread.. everyone is applauding how the whole slide show is really well done, i mean with the song, synchronizing, etc.

we just want to say.. good job... for a very tedious effort....

If you know that your post would put a debate going (flame bait) then maybe you should just pass commenting on it... (this is to all the haters' threads)

Again, we are in agreement.. the whole package is well done, not one particular thing stand out.. it's just the package...

I've been using pictures-2-exe for a while and it's very easy to create a DVD from the slideshow.
She just did amazing work! =)
I am sure it will looks good on the big screen TV, and many ppl
will want it...

with all do respect -

the song is bjork's, and the pics are 75% glasses and tables, and
20% more are people backs.
have we not seen enough desaturated masks in our life, nor overused

sorry for my first post being so unpleasent, had to say it!
Who is "we"?

We all agree that it was well done, right? What I think is one of the reasons that we all like it is because it is a silly song. The show is different from the norm. It made me smile and that is all that mattered!

Read the first message on the message board. It says she took the link down because her bandwidth quota was taken up by everyone downloading her 40MB file. She needs some bandwidth left for her business.

It's the way it was presented! The photos and the songs together made the mood and it appears that she made the bride, groom, family, & friends very, very happy!

It's not about how well the photos look, it's not about how the song blens, it's all about how she made both work and made it into an ART!

You got something better...show it! Else give it a break!

What would be more constructive would be to discuss how she could have improved, how she did what she did, and share with other "YOUR" ideas for improvement or give examples.

Bottom line: I liked it very much!!!

so I think the criticism is a bit premature. The ceremony was all but non existant etc. This was a bit of a teaser which most of us liked. I am sure the full version on a CD or a DVD would most probably prove admirable by even your high standards. I could be wrong though.

It IS all about how the photos look! On this board anyway. This is what we discuss here. Photography. Not Bjork's music.

The photographer is clearly an enthusiastic beginner, and don't doubt that she made her friends and family very happy. The music theme is fun and the idea is nice.

But to call it "art"??! Really, it's just another slideshow.

On a personal level I'm sure everybody was very touched - but on a professsional level her shots would never hold up. They are really quite amateurish. If I hade hired a photographer to document MY wedding, I would have been seriously disappointed if these shots were what I got.

That said, her enthusiasm goes a long way and I'm sure she will improve along the way.

But I can't believe the initial hoopla on this board about "stunning" pictures.. No way.

I wonder how much Bjork charged for the license to use her song? Or do you think she negotiated a blanket license from BMI or ASCAP?

Hello.

Thanks for the compliments and criticisms. It was a labor of love; this was my first wedding and I wanted to get across the feeling of the wedding (it started out quiet but ended up being just a great party).

As far as my photography being as "amateurish" as some of you say, the family was blown away and that's all that matters to me. They cried, they screamed with delight, they jumped up and down. The bride told me it was exactly what she wanted - she wanted a very photojournalistic approach and that's what I gave her. She didn't even know I was there, which I took as a great compliment.

And btw, I don't like color tinting/desat masks either, but when I met with the bride, she specifically requested it. She commented during the show how much she liked it.

And I'd really like to know how to avoid having people's backs to the camera when they're dancing - do I ask everyone to turn around and stop dancing so I can take a picture?

Anyway, I appreciate Carlos' offer to host the slideshow but I think I will pass - I didn't anticipate this level of interest and I think I'll try to keep it down to just half the internet. ;)
