Everyone's curious and would like to hear about Canon's response to
the Nikon D70. I am waiting for it myself and would welcome any
news, be it solid specs or just a confirmed news that "something"
will stir at Photokina.

What if the original poster did indeed gleam some info from his
Canon contact, but cannot share it right now - did he do such an
unspeakable thing by telling everyone that Canon is not leaving the
Rebel to fight a mismatched fight with the D70?

I hope its a DSLR in the $900-$1300 range. I will have a couple of
quality lenses by then awaiting a digital body.
