Enough is enough!!!

Thank you for the comment :) I always try to add a bit of my "recreated" perspective to the pics and I learned that from the great story-tellers in NTF :)

Glad you like the story and pics :)

Not about the D70 posts though :) Here's the story for today...

Went down to Rottnest Island today for a little R&R. This little
island is a habitat for the endangered quokkas. For those who are
not familar with these small marsupials which, look like tiny
kangaroos; here's a shot:

While they are wild, they are very adapted to human presence. They
are very friendly ... almost too friendly!!!!

I'm a very tolerant man, and I said to myself, "that's alright" ...
but when he decided to make for my "other possessions" ...

I said "Enough is enough"; and we left the quokkas high-and-dry in
a haste. No wonder they are endangered ... i.e. becoming more
dangerous!!!

This story is off course not true :) Quokkas are very adorable in
every sense ... Vote for a split between quokkas and squirrels!!!

Now I'm jealous!!! LOL :))) But they are very adorabe in real life; these pics doesn't do them justice :(

As for the name "quokkas" ... well, all I can say is that it sure beats names like "vegemite"!!! :)))
I love the expression on the furball's face in the 2nd shot....like
a young teen getting his first kiss...Hahaha! Is it just me or does
Australia make the best names for critters?

Going to Perth and am buying my D70 this week hence my request. I intend to go to Rottnest to take some shots with it any other info?

The last pic took a bit of effort; @12mm, I had to get to the ground and get about 0.5 m from the creature. But it is always a joy to know that such efforts pays off :)

Thank you for looking :)
Amazing! Congratulations for these great shots and thanks for
sharing. Especially the last one is outstanding in terms of
composition and technique.

... which one do you have in mind? :) Are you referring to the bigger ones? :)))
Now you showed us one of Australia symbols (almost). Are you going
to show us the other one?

Thanks for sharing such great photos.

Regit,

Enough is indeed enough! :-) And I do include the ridiculous wave of D70 posts even though I'm anxiously awaiting my own. :-p Really glad to see some excellent pics posted here. And is it just me or was Steven S trying to fight back yesterday w/ all them D70 pics posts (vs all the D70 non-pics rants)? :-)

Anyway, love this set and the little storytelling, and that's an excellent ending shot. Thanks for sharing these.

Best regards,

Man

Thank you for the comments :)

Have to admit I'm not very familiar with Australian mammals :( I'll see what I can do with the Yowie and Dropbear ... after looking up on what they are!!! LOL :))))
Regit,
Very nice pics of our quokkas, I'm impressed.
I would be more impressed if you could post some pics of a Yowie or
maybe a Dropbear or two....... :)))

Cheers,
Rob.

Glad the you like these :) The quokkas are quite easy to work with as they are not shy to human. I'll definitely go down again and try with more angles.

Thank you for looking, Ron :)
Most hearty congratulations on a fabulous job!

Thank you for looking :) The first was taken with a 85mm 1.4 at f2; and at the distance I'm at from the quokka, the DOF is acturally very shallow :)

These a lot of informatio there. And if you intend to stay there for a night or 2, it is always a good idea to book the accomodation first.

If you're interested in birding, I suggest you just the Rottnest Island section of this site :)

Thank you for the comment :) The D70 posts can be quite overwhelming; while I do understand that they are excited, I do hope they would search and not replicate posts :(

Glad to know that you and Steve are "fighting" the onslaught :)
