Faces behind the camera (cont'd)..

Hello Sol

Yes, I thought keeping up the female side of things was the right thing to do. Thanks for the response.

Barry, great thread.
It really is wonderful to put a face to a name. There have been
quite a few people who have given me advice on my posted photos and
I must say all advice has been much appreciated. Here are a couple
of my photos.

Taken last year on my balcony in Surfers Paradise. Sorry guys I
can't compete with the beer shots, but we do make some beautiful
wines down here.

We are currently living in Papua New Guinea, this photos was taken
last week in a local village.
Thanks again everyone for a great forum.

Sometimes a photograph captures reality.
Sometimes a photograph captures the imagination.
Ultimately, a photograph simply captures a moment in time.
And then, . . . it lives forever.

Hello José

Does this mean you won't be visiting PNG in the near future? We have had some great experiences here, but mostly the country is not for the faint hearted. Great to hear from you.

Sorry, can't help but sing that song made famous by The Four Tops.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures.

Cheers,

Hi José

Had a look at your photo, very nice. I like the shot of you in the foreground and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the highrises in the background. I also had a look at your website - great photos there also. I especially like the photo of the bird flying past the Skydome.
King regards

Hi Rene,

Is PNG close to Australia? We might go to Australia again (were there in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics) because I want to attend the Australian Open in Melbourne (tennis is my other passion).

Great to hear from you too.

Warm greetings from Toronto, Canada,

José

Thanks for your kind words Rene. Sydney will remain one (if not my most) of my favourite cities. If I was a lot younger I would love to immigrate there----great weather to play outdoor tennis 10 mos. a year, lots of photo ops and friendly people.

Are you from there originally? Pls. contact me via email because I would love to learn more about Australia. Thanks.

This is a great thread everybody. Now is finally my turn to scare everyone here. This was taken today in Washington DC where it was supposed to be sunny but was down right overcast, the reflection is off the roof of the underground restaurant and shop at the National Art Gallery.

Hi José

I think you would really enjoy the Australian Open, I have been a few times in the past and have had a wonderful time. It is a good time of year to be visiting Australia as it is in our summer months. Melbourne is a great city to visit also, lost of activities, beautiful scenery, if you are into good food then Melbourne is the place to be - we pride ourselves on being able to offer just about every cuisine in the world.

PNG is about a 3 hour flight from Brisbane. Will tell you more about PNG in an email.
Bye for now José
Warm Regards from Mt. Hagen

Jim:

I checked my monitor - it looks OK. (My chin level adjustment is already at 100%.) I'll just blame it on a bad Liquify effect.

Or too many Krispy Kremes.

What a great thread. Let me help by starting off this extended one.

This true face-behind-the-camera shot was taken by my wife while we
were celebrating our 25th in Alaska. I'm demonatrating the
oh-so-important bottom-lip-bite technique that, for some reason,
makes most of the shots in focus. (I hate this shot. What are all
those chins doing there?)

When I don't have the 7hi in my face, it looks more like this:

Blessings to all.

"Hey Plamen, how are those in traffic?" - sorry, I was unable to
grasp the idea.

E-eh English..., I need more practice. A friend of mine who lives
in Hawaii, but originates from Alabama always tells me that she
will teach me just in a few days how to speak like a real
Hillbilly, LOLOLOLOLOL. Unfortunately both Hawaii and Alabama are
still in several thousands miles away :-))

I see. Actually they are two. The Hercules is Turkish C-130E supporting their "Turkish Stars" demo team. The second one is a US F-15C From Lakenheath, UK. It's grounded - see the red markers waving.

Hi Rene,

Getting closer to returning to Oz, right? I've enjoyed seeing your PNG shots along the way. I also enjoy seeing your Surfers setting. Pretty much unmistakable and reminds me of my yonger days (early 20s) when I lived a lot closer to there. Oh well, life is till good.

All the best,
John

We did have a pic of the trio (a shot for the family Christmas card - Jamie's uncooperative as always).

And these were all taken with my old Canon, so excuse the quality. Hang on, that's just us ;-)

Cheers

Ray
G'day Ray,

Good to see you and your better half, even if Jamie is hiding
somewhere else.

Cheers,
