All done with Nikkor 24-85 AF-S 3.5-4.5 (That lens amazes me)
The closer Horses shot done with internal fill flash (in D-TTL)

It was very cold (-33 with the wind) but we couldn't resist the fantastic light that was calling us. I went with a good friend of mine (MLR Photo his wife and kids 2 +_ my little one)

We had a real ball.

. . . especially those horses. Images like these of yours contain such vision and feeling that they almost make me regret that I live here. Almost. It was a little nippy here today . . . about 59 degrees (Fahrenheit). Don't know what that is in Centigrade, but no matter how you translate it, it's pleasant.

But we are in daily contact with Montreal, so I feel your pain. :)

59 translates to about 15 degres in Celcius so much much milder ...

We needed to walk at all time, and not stop for too long, that was the secret.

I really starting to love my 24-85 as well. It took me a little while to figure out how to get the most out of it, but now it sits on my camera 24/7.

Just an FYI, this sentence doesn't read correctly.

"Under no circumstances NONE of these images may be reproduced unless you have an explicit written permission from Yves P."

Under no circumstances can ANY of these images be reproduced unless you have explicit written permission from Yves P.

You and the loved ones had a wonderful day after all
that snow. I might have to go and get that 24-85 AF-S back.

Yves,

What camera body were these shot from and at what settings, especially the closeup of the two horses? That is one incredable picture. Are you a professional photographer and did you use a tripod? It is so exciting to see a truly beautiful picture. Thank you for sharing them.

I couldn't help wondering how long it took to put all that stuff on those horses.

I wonder if the D70 will take pictures as nice as this.

I did correct the sentence, funny part, it was corrected by someone else stating that my previous sentence was wrong.

This one make a lot of better sense though.

out of the camera, which just shows what the d100 can do, let alone with a great operator :^)

Blushing ...

Settings are in the exif data on the PBase account (link)

That is one incredable

I was handheld for that shot but 85mm is not that long of a tele so minimal chances of blur herer on such a sunny day.

It is so exciting to see a truly beautiful picture. Thank
you for sharing them.

what was your metering on????
I did use center weighted and set the exposure on the central scene with mild correction (+EV) in the camera

you kept sharpness
throughou
This time, no sharpening was added in PS, in camera normal sharpening in NEF shot

t...........thanks for sharing as always!

Outstanding as usual. I think you need to write a book. ;)
All done with Nikkor 24-85 AF-S 3.5-4.5 (That lens amazes me)
And that is EXACTLY what I didn't want to read. Dennis D and other others have me talked into getting a 24-120...then I see your amazing shots from JUST what I want the 24-85 for.

The 24-120 has other advantages the 24-85 lacks ... (VR)

In general, I like the 24-85, it has become my most used general outing lens.

Nice work as always Yves!

I was born, raised and still live in Southern California. What is that white stuff all over the ground in your pics? :)
