My Gigapixel license expired a couple of months ago. That's okay it still does what I bought it for. It's not a program that I use every day or even every week but whenever I do , Topaz forces me to log into my account before it will allow me to use it. Is this normal . It is a pita as I have to look up my login info when I want to use the program. I figure I paid for it -it's mine - not renewing it. topaz just go away. anyone else having to log in to use gigapixel?

Let's be more specific. How long are the pauses between each time you run the app?

I ask because my Photo AI license expired almost a year ago, I only use it sporadically, but I don't recall ever having to log in even once after first installing it. Maybe your gaps are a lot longer than my gaps.

It's normal for Topaz software.

Whether we like it or not.
Thanks... normal but not really comfortable knowing they control my access at this point. Almost as wacky as Adobe being able to kill your elements paid license after a time limit.

I'd bet that at some point, Topaz' license servers will shut down, and that their perpetual licenses will become no good. It would be unusual for Topaz to offer a patch that stopped the need for their software to phone home. (Which I suppose would, in effect, convert their old software to freeware. Not gonna happen.)

My Gigapixel License expired last year. I rarely use it any more but out of curiosity I just opened it. It opened normally without asking to log in.

Haven't used it for quite some time . . . just opened and it worked fine . . . no log in required.

You should consider a secure password minder. That makes it a lot easier to "look up" passwords for infrequently used apps.

It may have something to do with the last update downloaded from Topaz before the license expired--- or--- having unused gigapixel credits for cloud processing after license expiration. For as much as I need to use it, which is occasionally, It is just a curious annoyance as long as it continues to perform properly.
