The original, more than 11 year-old, modest Oly EM10 is a real gem.

It has travelled with me to many places in the world and has never disappointed me - not once. Sadly it eventually gave up the ghost and I replaced it with a EM10 mk. IV, which is a gem itself, but sometimes I still miss the original.

Some pics I shot over my time with it:

Really nice shots. I agree that the Olympus 10 series cameras are wonderful. I have had every one of the series from the first, right up through the E-M10 IV. Currently, I have the OM-5 II which is pretty similar in size but lacks the tilt only screen.

I’m waiting to see if there will be an OM-10, but I have my doubts.

Terrific Jacques. 👌

As well as Oly 14-42mkii for 6 photos.

Now that I have og M1.1 picked up fortnight or so ago, looking to pick up dinky cute M10.1 or M10.2.

Get the E-M10 II if you can find one, the best one until the Mark IV.

Thanks!

A new OM10 will be great :-)

I had an EM 10iii, which I bought with the 14-42 and 45 F2. 8 for £399 from OMDS. The only reason I got rid was the inability to use electronic shutter in all but AP mode.

The subsequent EM 10 iii S, solved this problem.

I didn't own this camera, but a close friend did. From what I saw, the combination of 16MP sensor and Truepix 8 processor, gave the best noise performance I've seen on any Oly camera.

Cheers

The E-M10 IV also returned to the electronic shutter in all modes. I never saw too much noise difference in the E-M10 II, III, IV. But, there was a big jump in C-AF with the Mark IV…. not as good as PDAF, but the best of the10 series CDAF, IMO.

Whew, what a beautiful set of images. I love the EM10 series and have more than one of the Mark ll and Mark lV. The charming retro-SLR looks, the tilt screen, the IBIS, the lovely Olympus colors, all in that marvel of a tiny sturdy little package. I love the EM5/OM5 cameras too, but for the weather-sealing. I use an EM10 or a small PEN unless I think WR is needed. Don't need or care about compositional AI functions or super-fast-motion AF. Just small size, IBIS, and lovely IQ, which these cameras just deliver, deliver and deliver.

Some very nice photos, especially the 1st, 4th and last. They just show that photo content trumps gear.

Since weight has become a problem, I though about buying the EM10 IV many times. I like it's size with a viewfinder. How do you find the build quality?

I feel the same way about my Nikon D5500 w/AF-P 70-300mm ED VR. I can't part with it because I like the JPEG rendering.

Smaller lenses as your Oly 14-42mkii Jacques looks nicely balanced look of love on smaller bodies as your M10.1, M10 series.

[ o ]

My just picked up past fortnight M1.1 looks bit too big fitted with my Oly 45/1.8, Pany 14-42mkii.

M10.2 going to check it out instore tomorrow with its Eshutter. My E-Pl7 even with 0 anti shock too loud shutter for quiet indoors places, reason I've never photographed with it indoors. Also hardly photographed with my E-Pl7 since I picked up my Gx7 with its Eshutter. But my Gx7 missing computational features I dig in my E-Pl7.

M10.2 could be the look of love for me : computational + Eshutter + smaller body.

Yip, I couldn’t phrase it any better.
They’re superb :-)

It's not only the camera, it's the eye.

Nicely done

Thanks!

You will love an EM10.

I now have the mk IV with the 12-45mm f4 Pro lens and it is great. AF in AF-S is fast and accurate.
