Can't decide between BF and GFX100RF

Seems to be order of times, similar to what Leica is doing and I believe they might have started this trend with higher MP SL series of cameras and now Q's.

I don't buy into this. Nobody needs more than 25 MP at least not 90% of us (I think)
More megapixels helps in some situations. Less artifacts (something about nyquist?). I also find the auto skin blemish removal tools I had worked better on higher megapixel images. Cropping of course. High ISO noise is sort of a wash - more pixel level noise but more pixels so the “viewing distance” images look roughly equivalent.

its more pleasant to photoshop high resolution images than low - just more data to work with for stuff like clone stamp.

otherwise - if you don’t print big or extreme crop - meh.

So you favor the Gfx100 RF?
Can't see the point of that camera, either :-)
You can't rationalise that camera. It's too expensive for a secondary camera for everyday shots, travel, some landscape. However I have a huge desire, because I've always loved those MF film rangefinders, large sensors, I like to zooming on photos for details (landscape, cityscape).
I have a medium format camera, a GFX50s. It's a good camera, but the reality is that it is not really significantly better than other cameras unless you have some rather narrowly focused and niche requirements.
Begs the question: what does a desired camera model do that any currently owned camera can not do?

I fell to GAS after years of shooting mainly a Sigma SD9 and bought a Lumix DC-G9 specifically meaning only for the EVF, the EVF magnification and focus peaking, and the dual IS. Much better for my failing vision and body/hand steadiness. Unlike many, I do not give an aeronautical copulation about it's much greater MP.

If those were true 25Mp, sure. Except marketing lied to consumers about that for a long time by equating photosites/sensels with pixels.

I have DPMs, and they have 45MP sensor, the output of which gets turned into true 15Mp output.

Not enough details gathered from 25Mp Bayer. This is the same reason why film getting scanned at true 25Mp is going to look better than the same piece of film scanned with 25Mp Bayer sensor.

I don't know how many are in the same boat, but I got into dead end with this first world problem.

What I like in BF:
  • Lens change option - different focal lengths, f2 aperture
  • Simplicity
  • Design
  • Price (with one i lens half the price of GFX100RF)
  • Interface
  • Durability (no moving parts, card doors, screen mechanism)
  • Working with 24MP raws more simple, faster, conivinient
In GFX 100RF:
  • Huge sensor with high resolution for cropping ability, Bayer demosaic pattern fading away, better dynamic range, better tonality, colors.
  • Complete camera, no urge building a system
  • Ergonomic is exist, tall body grip, small lens bump the mass center in the body
  • Size with the built in lens
  • EVF
  • Tilting screen
  • Aspect ratio dial
  • Hot shoe
  • Leaf shutter
In BF the interchangeable lens is a huge deal, because in terms of the RF I have the 28mm FOV with F4 and done. But the cropping ability may helping, I use 28-50mm range excursively. On the same time in BF the lack of the flash use a bit pain, even if I'm not a flash photographer.

Both cameras built appeals me but in different way. The nostalgic, convinient and versatile RF design of the GFX, and one of my favourite DP2Q camera body like simple and sturdy BF. I'd get both, but even one of each is a quite investment.

There is one critical performance preference which still unclear, the AF.
I sold my x100VI and have been looking at getting a Leica Q3 to go with my m11p for travel and street but this new Sigma kinda' checks a few of those boxes. I thought about the GFX but it's a bit on the large size and I don't really need 100mp so the Sigma caught my attention.

The only concern I have is that one reviewer had an issue with the LCD in daylight which may turn me away (especially since there's no EVF) from it if other reviewers mention having the same issue.
