Time for Sony to put CF-A in the A7C series...

V90 cards cost MORE than cf-a cards, and they are slower, and they have lower capacities.

I would love to see a CF-A slot, and a micro SD slot like the Nikon ZF.

IIRC there’s only one high resolution 120fps option that demands V90, in all other cases V60 is sufficient. V90 isn’t better than V60, just more expensive. Just 1 card slot is a compromise due to the compact size. I like the Zf a lot, but didn’t buy it due to the weight and size and missing lens options.

You really like to ask Sony to put all the high end features into the lower end cameras, don't you? ;-)

I wonder what the implications would be for heat? CFeA cards do get hot in the camera (even hotter in the reader when you download all the images to the computer). I believe there are already heat issues with the C series bodies, so it's a serious concern.

That said, I am using nothing but CFeA cards in all my Sony bodies (except the A6700, which, like your C body, can't take CFeA). They clear bursts more quickly, and they give me a bit more time at full speed during the burst.

The dual type card slot that Sony uses in the full size bodies isn't a heap larger than the SD-only socket, just a bit thicker, so size shouldn't be an issue.

I saw a post from someone on another site expressing concern that the CFeA cards might use significantly more power. Well, I can, and have, shot very long bursts on an A9III and didn't run out of battery after 4500 shots, so I don't think that concern is realistic.

So it's possible that the next round of C bodies could have support for CFeA. And all the other things you ask for, too... :-D

You also need it for increased buffer emptying and for xavc-si 4k modes. I want CF-a so that I can do xavc-si modes with proxies, which I can't do now.

But yes a v60 and in some cases a v30 is all you need depending on how much data you are capturing.

I do. But I see it as small cameras vs low end, but with less features I can't argue the point.

Yep, that's what its going to take for me to upgrade my a7cr, stacked senser, and maybe just maybe a CFA slot.

The chips to support both may take up more space than they have available this time around. More miniaturization may be required.

I would like an A1C.
