Breaking news...

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous spaces.

Out, damned space; out, I say!

Now I have to go in and delete all the keyboard shortcuts which I painstakingly created to insert that extra space automatically for every Nikon Z model. At least I hadn’t gotten around to the Z50ii yet.

Wow what a big one. Nikon going places :-)

Zed not Zee, Nikon not Nykon!

Spaces are history!

Space, zee final frontier…

Well I need to send my new Z 6iii back to Nikon for a warranty repair. The top plate needs replacing to reflect the new name w/o the space. I especially need it to match my new Z50ii or else I won’t have a matching set.

Oh wait, I see the brand new yet to be released Z50ii has a space on the top plate; official marketing photos show Z 50ii :-|

Finally!!! I felt a tinge of guilt every time I went against the official protocol and typed Z8 instead of Z 8. Now if I could just get with the program and pronounce it Zed 8 instead of Zee 8,...
Be content in the knowledge that all the world, apart from one country, calls it Zed. :-D

Nikon apparently has officially removed the space between the "Z" and the number/letters in Z camera model names.
Like valiant humans against Borg of 24th century, I refuse to comply.

"Z7iii"

Gee, might that be the country that steadfastness refuses to use the metric system ? 😀😃🙂🙃

I wonder when Zed started to be pronounced Zee and why it caught on.

I think of the letter Bee and why all of us who say ZED don't call it Bed, instead.

But then why is EF; pronounced EF and not Fee or FED, instead.

Funny thing how language evolves.

As for Nikon the Japanese pronunciation I guess is correct. But when I look at how we spell it in English I think America is right to call it Nykon. I think the correct way to spell Nikon in English in order to say I'm pronounced Nikon is to spell it Nikkon.

Loki is pronounced low - key

Lokki is the short `o' version of the spelling

But anyway I don't know I'm not from England or America I'm from Striya mate!

Didn't Nikon choose "Z" (Zee, Zed) because it's their 'N' turned sideways?
I've heard a lot of people surmise that. I don't know that I ever read anything official, however. Why not just use "N" in that case. Yeah, I know they had a line of film camera models back in the '80s that used an N.

If it were me at the helm, if I chose Z as the new mount and camera line it would be more for something like "this is the best and last mount you will ever need. End of the line."

Over time, that will save many keystrokes.

The D series never had the space, so adding the space never made sense to me, other than to "think different".

If it was supposed to be prnounced Nykon, then the Japanese would have spelled it as Naikon - same as Daikon, Saimon etc.

I guess they think we're not ready for the final frontier. ;)

I never thought Nikon perceived they have put on the brand new Z mount a Gas Screw Thread, instead of a Metric one.

I never thought Nikon perceived an infant of three has written their brand new camera name.

I never thought Nikon to perceive they have Customers, that need respect

I always thought Nikon knew what they're doing on a technical side

( but ignorants managed the rest of the company )
