IMHO great decision.

the FZ200 and 300 are excellent for those grab and go moments when no preps are wanted.

last saturday i went to a car show, and thought i could have brought my Canon DSLR rebel, but the FZ200 does a sweet job of convenience most of the time.

if your printing small photos or into the jpeg world viewing on your PC, you may never miss your 'real camera'.

let us know your experience with the thing, mine has been mostly positive and had to learn a few controls to overcome some problems. i also got a UV filter and wrist strap for the thing to experience peace of mind while shooting.

I have had other bridge cameras like the Minolta Dimage 7Hi and Fujifilm S9600 and twice a Fulifilm X-S1 but never tried a Panasonic, so I will certainly let you know. :)

The FZ200 and FZ300 have a fixed max f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range.

I had the FZ200 since shortly after its release,

It's a very capable camera.

It was one of my favorite FZ"s.

I owned around 14 of them, since 2004 :)

Yes. That's because , as Jon T mentioned, the FZ200 had/has ability to shoot at f/2.8 throughout it's optical zoom range. A big thing when it first came out, as I recall.

You might be thinking about older models..

FZ3/5/7/8 perhaps? ...

Nope. The FZ3 constant f/2.8, FZ5 f/2.8-3.3, FZ7 f/2.8-3.3, & FZ8 f/2.8-3.3.

Maybe newer? e.g., ZS200

they may have release special camera features on his as a test model, that most of us have never heard of. maybe check yur camera for other fabulous features, as this camera will be a one of a kind collectors item.

please tell us more. we will wait.

have i told you about my FZ200 that shoots at f1.2 yet?

yep, i bought it in Japan and the last and only one they made.

i asked him why and he said they took a page from Canon and didn't want to cut into their professional sales.

I see now. It was the telephoto max aperture.

I knew I had cameras with that..but was not sure if they started or ended at f/3.3

Seems it was a FZxxxx model with 1" sensor mixup.

This newest FZ model...although we can expect same I.Q. ...for me...I think itbwill AF faster than the P950.

Also will be able to multitask..that is one can zoom whilebimages are being stored to SD card.

No can do with the P950. It can freeze up for a bit..making you wait.

Its only 7fps..and only for 7- 10 frames...which is finr..but not the waiting..before buffer is cleared. FZ80 had no problems with this.

Its all around faster.

It won't be of much use to me unless DXO supports it
