Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

I had a nice drive yesterday, until it was spoiled by birds.

The first time Ive seen this hawk this season.

Same as last season. It sits on the post and nothing bothers it. This post is above the residence at a large dairy so the hawk sees lots of people. It's up there right now and I'm going to walk around it to see if it will give me BIF pictures.

Directly beneath it.....it doesn't look like it has missed many meals. It's looking at me but not flying for me. I am insulted by it not fearing me.

Around and behind it. Nope, not interested in me. I should bring a pea shooter.

Songbirds annoying it, but it isn't perturbed.

Maybe it's so fat because it just grabs a songbird when it's hungry and doesn't need to fly.

I give up. How many pictures of it sitting on it's tail do I need?

Leaving the valley for the day I came around a corner and saw a large hawk up on that post. It flew as I got out of the car, so I changed cameras and took this 'scape. And that's all. Rich

The first photo has great potential. I would crop a little from the left, right and top, increase contrast slightly, convert it to B&W, make a print and put it on my wall.

Maybe its looking at you and thinking "Nah, he's had too many meals to climb the pole".

:-D

Dicky.

I can't help but wonder how often that very thought has entered the minds of us long suffering, misunderstood husbands everywhere, Dicky.😂

Not that any of us are brave/stupid enough to say it out loud.

I like the unflappable nature of this hawk,Rich but I don't think it realises the error of its ways. It shouldn't really ' poke the bear' with such disdain. I see trouble ahead.😄

The last is nice Rich. I get out of the car with a camera and lens and they all take off. They may not even wait for me to get out.

Hockey again tonight. 1730 images. This is getting really old, like the shooter.

Hockey again Saturday afternoon. Some during the week and a tournament following that. Good thing I only shoot electronic shutter for these or the shutter would get worn out too instead of just the photographer!

Sorry your hawk was so uncooperative.

The red wing black-birds weren't intimidated by it, nor it by them.

Looks like you had a nice drive anyway.

Excellent work, as usual, but this one grabs me most.

Not being familiar with 'roo, there look to be too many legs for one.

First one wins...

Either, your road maintenance crew has an artist with a sense of humor, or, you have one.

Lovely scene and colors Rich.
