Zf May Be Shipping Sooner

Just got my CC charged by B&H.

Just got the call from my local store (Glazers Camera, Seattle) that my Zf is ready for pickup! Cancelled my B&H order so hopefully the next person in line gets theirs ASAP

I ordered from B&H at 6am on the first day and received an email this morning saying that the item I ordered is still back ordered, fyi. That could just be an auto email based on the length of time from when I ordered but I also ordered the 40mm combo and have heard that’s in demand… but who knows?
I ordered mid-morning on the first day and received the same email.

Makes sense, I leave for Italy the evening of the 13th so I'm assuming mine will be delivered the 14th. :-P
My local store in Rome just sent me a WhatsApp saying that he just got some Zf…if you are landing in Rome you can buy one there the USD rate is pretty good at the moment may be you can also get a tax refund at the airport on your way back!
Hmm thats a thought, might be a hassle but who knows? What's the name of the shop? At the very least I can stop by and take a look.
Otticauniversitaria.it

But they could run out of stock by the time you will be there. Most probably it will be available in other stores as well. Like Sabatini or fotocamereroma.it

Better you call them before

I want the blue zf!

Got my black/black Zf kit with 40/2.0 lens yesterday afternoon. Wish I got a black/green body but we didn't have that choice here, in Romania. Pre-ordered on Sept. 26-th. Free Smallrig grip included (not very fond of it) and $450 voucher towards the acquisition of a new lens. Plus a surprising 13% last minute discount!

I love the camera! Looks like my FM2N on steroids. Wish Sony made something similar.

I am in the UK so guessing it’s same as US and being sent out from tomorrow.
Maybe yes - maybe no - on the date.

They are first shipped from the Nikon Europe warehouse in Belgium - and might be delayed clearing UK Customs.

They have been in stock at "Nikon UK" - which ships from Belgium - clarifying availability though usually taking a few days.

Some Nikon UK retailers were billed for their Plena delivery before Thursday - none have been delivered at 2pm Friday

Mine has just arrived so hopefully will get out over the weekend to try it. I am a sony shooter so its all new to me using a Nikon.

One thing i would say is that the battery comes with 0% charge so its currently plugged in for the next two and half hours before i can try it. Was hoping to nip out this afternoon now the rain has stopped so will have to wait now for the charge to complete.

Happy with the build quality though and feels better quality than my Sony aIV.

According to UPS tracking mine was shipped from Belgium yesterday and is already in the UK (Essex) with an estimated delivery date of Monday.
That means mine should arrive with my local UK retailer on Monday :-)

Now that mine has fully charged (finally!!!!) I had a quick go with it. Impressions are that its really well made and substantial. I have a Sony a7 currently as my main camera so can only compare it to that.

Its weighty in a good way (not cheap and plasticity like lots of other cameras I have tried). Not sure how comfortable it will be to hold for long durations though without the grip add-on. I got the grip free with the camera so will be trying it at some point. Screen pin sharp as is view finder. Auto focus seems lightening fast also which I am sure i will be more than happy with even though this will be only mainly used for casual travel and street photography.

Overall really pleased with it and look forward to getting outside with it maybe tonight if not tomorrow.

My moss green ZF Has shipped and will be delivered on Tuesday😀📷

Mine showed up today! My first reaction is this thing is very solid feeling. Without having the Zfc on hand, it feels about the same size even though I know it's bigger. It's almost as if they've kept the top plate the same, but just enlarged the body below that. On my scales with the 26mm F2.8 attached it's 846g with battery and cards. Compared to my X100V with its lens hood at 519g that's quite a big difference. That being said, this thing definitely feels a lot more like a X100V in the hand than it does a Z6II or even Zfc for that matter.

Everything about it seems high quality so far and the autofocus seems very similar to my Z8 just based on my first couple of shots. The one thing I have noticed though is that it seems like it's missing some of the menu settings that the Z8 has. On that camera I have "Recall shooting functions (hold)" set to my Fn1 button. I have that setup to instantly bring me into 3D tracking mode and turn off subject recognition. I can't seem to find that setting on the Zf, so I'm still kind of brainstorming how to quickly bounce between auto area AF and 3D. The fact that there's only one function button definitely complicates this, but I kind of knew that coming into this as I sold my Zfc to pick this guy up.

Nice shot. The ZF looks beautiful! How's the TT Artisans 50mm f2 that you have attached? Would you recommend it? Is face detection on manual focus working with this lens? I'm looking for a 50mm to pair with ZF.

Picked mine up today at Robert's Camera (along with a micro-SD card.)

Traded in my Zfc and a couple of lenses that weren't seeing much use.

*Really* like working with the people there. Top notch.

And agree 100% with your comments.

Solid piece of kit, to be sure.

It's a perfect mate the the Z8 in a lot of ways, (including using a single battery style/charger for both.) Nice.

For $79, it's hard to go wrong. It's fairly sharp wide-open in the center, but there corners definitely leave a lot to be desired.

On the Zf, MF subject detection works just fine with this one. A CPU lens (like a Voigtlander) isn't required for MF subject detection, so that mode should work with all MF glass.

My biggest complaint, which is dang near a deal breaker for me, is that the aperture and focus direction is reverse of Nikon. So I've found I have a hard time focusing on moving subjects because my muscle memory for MF is in the Nikon direction.

Here's a some examples of my son shot on my Z8.

Oh very nice. Be interested to see if you think it replaces the X100V - I have a Zf on order but also have an X100F. I don't use the 100F much these days but I'll probably regret it it I sell it.

If the Zf works for what I do - documentary and low light jazz I may sell one of my Z6s

Oh one more thing - what is the performance of the TTARtisans lens like?
