As I noticed him starting to yawn I grabbed the camera, turned it on, and shot the photo. Yay for R50 autofocus, it did a reasonable job even with the eyes closed. I suspect a little luck was involved.

(And if you want to play numerologist... ISO 800, 28mm, f/2.8, 1/800 sec, taken on 8/28)

Tuxedos are always dressed well, but they also present their exposure challenges …
Yep;

Last week, a little over 12 years, we had to put our Lucy down.

She was quite the little princes.

Nice shot ! :) This thread is awesome ! :)
Yes. Now I'm going to have to follow my own black and white cat around with a camera, waiting for him to yawn! He'll probably just pester me for treats, though. :)

Look at her elegant paws. What a lady. I am so sorry you have lost her. My heart goes out to you.

No yawn, but with her Siamese mix and one half black and one half torty face, Mia can be a tricky exposure. I will try for a yawn too. Goal for the week!

Turns out one of my favorite yawns from years past was taken on 8/26, so 18 years and 2 days before this one.

With the Canon EOS 20D, anyone remember that? Eight megapixels!

Hah, very nice! Looking in the past, found this one taken with 300D:

Buster already passed away a few years ago being 15yo(, 300D is still alive and actively used by my friend.

I used mine extensively for five years, and still have many framed prints on my walls from it. I never sold it, and occasionally fire off one or two shots for old times’ sake. It was a great camera.
