Agreed, and if you ARE going to post a link to their video, at least you can summarize their findings so we don't have to sit through it.

Well at the end of the day, this is a score in points, which could be valid for the people scoring them.

I'll just say this. I'm NO prejudiced camera brand lover. I happened to have owned the R5 and some top L glass, and more recently the A7RV with some sweet glass. They are both great setups don't get me wrong. But the Z9 and 24-120 and 100-400 glass I'm using at this time spanks them both. Ironically in exactly the tests T and C did their tests on them. I couldn't disagree more with their results as when I tested them together in all areas of performance the Z9 won out, which is why the others got sold off and the Z9 is the one that remained. The low light performance of the Z9 was the first thing that wowed me, especially over a Sony. The EVF, yeah with it's lower rez happens to have 3 stops brighter output then any other out there and you sure can tell in broad daylight. No lack of sharpness and perfect exposure information given. I could go on but I'll just leave it at that. Once again T&C are full of it for whatever reason and spewing their clickbait to remain millionaires on their Youtube channel.

More "nikon bad" from the people who really dislike nikon.

What I'd love to see is something like this from someone who doesn't dislike nikon. Say, Steve Perry.

Not to mention plenty of other people have noted various issues with both canon and sony cameras over the years, but while the z8 is succeeding, people can't help but tear it (and nikon) down.

Oddly, that viewpoint wouldn't apply here to Steve Perry videos, to mention but one pro-Nikon YouTuber.

I did say "Tony & Chelsea" in the thread title, so let's let forum-goers decide for themselves rather than censor viewpoints a priori. I found their comparison very useful, and they were quite favorable to Nikon in many aspects.

Steve Perry doesn't use clickbait titles.

Ah. I remember when they went after Steve McCurry for clicks...

I watched first minute to see them give 10 / 10 to the Sony body for handling. Man, my sides have split. Nothing is gonna top that for awhile.
I agree.

I bought a Sony A1 at the same time I bought my Z9. The A1 lasted only a few weeks before i git rid of it and one of my major dislikes about it was its handling. It was dreadful.

Quote from the video: "Nikon just threw everything at (the) Sports (category) and won BIG."

These comparisons are a bit of a joke to be honest. Unless you're shopping for a camera, it doesn't matter really. I'm sure the R5 is better than the Z8 in some respects, and I'm sure the A7R V is better than the R5 in some respects. I'm also quite sure the Z8 kills both in other areas.

Let's not start gatekeeping who can be linked and who cannot. People can choose whether to click themselves, and don't need someone deciding for them. Nor do we want all camera-related links banned; that would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. OP did alert that it was a T&C video, that should be enough for people to decide for themselves whether to click.

I think you can gatekeep certain things. That's the whole point of moderation. Some things deserved to be banned.

The things that are not totally positive to Nikon I suppose ........ there's a difference between moderation and censorship!

Steve has done a Sony/Nikon comparison for his speciality of wildlife photography.

He concluded Sony just very slightly ahead for menus, AF about equal, and Nikon lenses for wildlife ahead.

Since then Nikon has delivered two auto focus firmware updates and more new wildlife telephoto options while Sony has delivered none.

I expect if Steve were to spend another 3 weeks in Africa comparing the 2 systems side by sid he would find report have overall moved ahead.

Seriously comparing all three systems side by side in a wide range of photographic situations is beyond the ability of most reviewers.

Well, I think the video deserves a look. They have clear points, and to just relate to their score sum is foolish anyway. You need to watch the video and decide if their points are yours.

Admittedly, a summary would be nice to have. So here it is (partly), centered on the Nikon Z8 viewpoint:
  • The Nikon cannot flip the screen forward, but has a good grip and handling.
  • The Nikon viewfinder is "low resolution". Is that even true in comparison?
  • The Nikon tele lens they showed is heavier than comparable lenses. It is also better quality.
  • The Nikon focused on the eyelashes, not the iris, and sometimes on the rear eye.
  • Nikon lost focus in a video they shot.
I stopped at that point, because I am not interested in wildlife capabilities. From all I heard, the Z9 and Z8 is absolutely leading in that respect.

So it's a question of what you shoot, I shoot birds/wild life D500/D750 Afs 600mm F4E FL so a heavier body with the best grip is imperative for me and the range of Z tele glass is the best out there .. T+C's choice for birding was the Nikon .

I keep on hearing that however the Z8/Z9 is missing eye focus which if I was doing portraiture would be frustrating ......
