What Originally Brought You To DPReview ?

I remember a lot farther back than my recent participation here, including being in a crib with my twin sister in 1957, walking to my first day of kindergarten school in 1960, the debate between Nixon and Kennedy they showed us 5 year old kids, getting lost in Central Park in 1962, at which time I remembered my grandparents address and told the cop (68 e 86 st), and so on for the next 60 years. Born with a lot of RAM I guess.

In 2002 I purchased my first digital camera: Nikon D100. The salesman wrote the URLs of two websites on the invoice: dpreview.com and imaging-resource.com.

Your avatar is funny. Casimiro is a common name. There was such a fellow in our Pueblo. My sibs used to call him "Almost Look." Do not ask; "Almost look like what?"

Here is his son; poor guy has hung up his tennis also.

RIP, Big Bob, RIP.

I got a coupon in the mail, along with a note promising a large check after my 2,000 post.

I'm almost there. I just need about 900 more posts in five days.
I was kinda hoping for 2000 posts also.

It's looking doubtful :-( Even with just 51 to go :-|
Well even the doubtful can become reality :-D

Sorry but I don't have a clue what brought me to DPR.

I'm proud of my "Photos uploaded 0" stat after being a member for over a decade. I just love gear and not photos I guess. This was the perfect site for me sigh.

It says the same in my profile, but I have actually uploaded over 500 photos. All of them were in posts, not to my gallery. I've never seen the point in uploading to the gallery.

I was looking for a review on the Olympus C-2500 UZI when I found DPR .
Similar to you: I was looking for a review of a Canon something Pro IS compact zoom camera... then started browsing the site and was hooked pretty quickly
Found it! it was a PowerShot Pro90 IS.

My dad bought it and lent it to me... and I needed to find some info on this.

I will miss the camera / lens database here a lot

I was looking for reviews prior to buying my first DSLR 19 years ago. I found, inter alia, the DPR review of the Nikon D70:

I've been here ever since.

My first digital was a Konica Minolta z5. I lurked the KM forum after buying it, but ultimately jumped over to Pentax after Sony acquired KM. I signed up shortly before getting my first DSLR, a K100d.

for decent conversation and advice about photography and gear.

but i always end up getting frustrated and going away for a while. looks like that cycle is broken.
