Hi

There is quite always a "Canon Rebate" on some lenses.

My question is does anybody knows how often they arrive?

There is an RF lens I know I want (RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM), and a Canon Rebate is occurring right now (-100$cad) ... Should I buy it now? Or will it have better sales further in time?

Is there a way to verify the history of lens prices?

I am asking this because I do not often buy lenses, nor follow their price.

But in other domain, having a sale correspond to the end of the life of a product or a new version arriving soon ... which means a price drop for the "old" version ... so in the end, you'd better wait.

I have not heard of an RF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM Mkii, but there were rumours about an RF 24-105 f/2.8 L IS USM.

What generally happens after a Canon Rebate? Is it just temporary and it comes back? Like a seasonal rebate?

Thanks for your feedback

Once or twice a year, but on specific products only.

If it's something you've been waiting to buy, then get it now. Any near future prices will not be lower than the rebate price (often just the opposite).

I suppose you could follow someplace like Canon Pricewatch:

No such thing happening here.

No such thing gonna happen (IMHO).

Usually there are some rebates around the holiday season (might not affect the item you're looking for tho).
Thanks for your feedback
I say if you see a good price, go for it. :-)

Currently there is a significant discount on amazon (at least for .de store) in the Spring Sale on RF 16, 35 and 50 primes:

New lenses will drop in price but the RF 24-105L has been out since the R was introduced. So if you want it, take the $100 and run. Who knows if they will offer a $150-$200 rebate in the coming years but I wouldn't bet on it for awhile.

When they come out with a version 2 of that model, you will see it on a big sale but then you will want the version 2 fro even more money lol

Hi

Thanks everyone.

I am know a proud owner of the RF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM, had -150$ rebate on it (1.599,00$cad instead of 1.750,00$cad)
