I had been thinking about whether or not I wanted this lens but this photo made the decision for me...yes I do want it.

FYI, without the Adobe profile correction it distorts a ton, but that said I'm happy with it, especially at $300. This was is my work building:

Oh it vignette's a bit without the profile correction as well. Example from two nights ago where i turned off the profile. I love the little lens but would probably buy the zoom down the road.

Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I had a camera and binoculars with me. Took this shot and saw a beautiful King Fisher through the bino's. A great walk it was !

Is that a Concorde in the background? I thought the Concorde was Frenchy. The Harrier is cool. Amazing feat of engineering. I'd like to build a model of it.

I received my R3 at the end of December. Since I was scheduled for a business trip at the end of the month, I headed out to the for a few test shots. I was curious about AF performance and was not disappointed. I have bad eyesight and birds are always a challenge, especially when tucked behind foliage. I set the camera on full area animal eye detect and pointed the camera in the general area of a couple of birds and the AF point immediately jumped to the birds eye. I hit BBF and the camera stuck on the eye or immediately reacquired lock as the birds eye was blocked by the limb. I don’t think my R5 would have matched this performance. I look forward to my next wildlife trip. Not sure how the upload will look, but extremely sharp on my computer. Very little editing on this image since was a test.

Currently at Duxford there is a Spitfire exhibition, displaying 11 operational Spitfires and one that will be restored to operational flying.

With the other Spitfires that are at Duxford you can see about 16 operational planes.

I am very much so! I loved the results of the MkII and the MKIII is an excellent upgrade. Very sharp at 16mm wide open!

Interesting it’s noticeably heavier than the MkII, but we all have our crosse’s to bear

And what an amazing saving buying it from HDEW made!!
