Anybody else recently rediscover an old small sensor camera? Like maybe a point and shoot? The Fuji X10 was the original X camera, and for many of us the gateway to many amazing Fujis to come. I got mine up and running for the first time in a long, long time over the weekend. The files are narrow and noisy, of course, but they have a lot of spirit and are surprisingly amenable to correction. Colors are accurate and interesting. The macro is more than useful, but small sensors are good at that. And the camera, as always, is a delight and still feels perfectly Fuji-like.

Hello...

Beautiful Fall photographs - thanks for sharing. :-)

Not planning to talk about it on YouTube, that's for sure.

Thank you. I've been shooting a lot these last weeks.

For a while this was my small camera when I didn't want to haul the D90. Liked the results enough that one cruise, this was only camera that I took. When I went to m4/3 for small, I had the little LX3 converted to IR and still use it.

Neat. I have been thinking about experimenting with IR for a while, but hadn't considered a point and shoot as a tool for it. Those images are really beautiful and full of nuance. I especially like the last one with the warm tones.

I love the little guys as well. Part of it is the shooting experience. Here's a couple from a Pentax Q.

It seems to do better with closer subjects; not exactly good at landscapes.

Of late , because of problems with my eyes, I have started to use a brige camera that I had bought for my wife.

Not as good as my APS with long lens but a LOT more fun to use and I can use it in the rain too.

One shot I took in the rain a couple of weeks ago :

Lovely delicate colors!

Hello...

The ELPHs are such fun and nice picture - is that Maine? :-)
I have a Canon PowerShot ELPH 360 HS that I often carry around because it's so tiny and light. I tweak the exposure and picture settings to get the best out of it. I shoot at 10mp mode since I have no need for full res.

My wife has her Lumix LX100 converted to IR. Great images from a small package that she puts in a small waist pac when out with her larger Mirrorless. I’m considering a 1” compact as a good option for an IR conversion.

This is Point Betsie on Lake Michigan. Visiting Maine is on my bucket list and when I get there, my cameras are sure to be getting a workout!

Sweet. Love the pug. But a 1 inch sensor is huge compared to the little one in the X10, which in turn was larger than the tiny ones in cheaper point and shoots.

and for a 1 inch sensor the cameras i find are excellent, especially if you stick a decent lens on them
Great shots.

How is the camera holding up? I was looking at some of those Nikon 1's when I got my Q10, but some folks were complaining about failures. Not sure which model it was though, probably a J1.
